فقدت الساحة الثقافية الفلسطينية الباحث الحكواتي حمزة العقرباوي، المعروف بلقب «حكواتي فلسطين»، بعد أن وافته المنية في القاهرة.

ونعت وزارة الثقافة الفلسطينية العقرباوي، الشهير بلقب «حكواتي فلسطين»، بعد أن وافته المنية في القاهرة، في خبر أعاد إلى الواجهة مسيرته المرتبطة بتوثيق الموروث الشعبي والذاكرة الجمعية الفلسطينية.
وأوضحت، في بيان نشرته عبر صفحتها الرسمية على «فيس بوك»، بأن العقرباوي كان من المهتمين بجمع الموروث الشعبي وكل ما ارتبط بتفاصيل الحياة اليومية في فلسطين، واعتمد في كتاباته على الذاكرة الشعبية والهوية الجمعية، وله عدد من الأبحاث والمقالات المنشورة التي وثّقت جوانب متعددة من التراث الفلسطيني.
وأضافت: «أولى العقرباوي اهتماماً خاصاً بجمع الأرشيف، لا سيما ذلك الذي يعكس تفاصيل الحياة اليومية للفلسطينيين، كما عمل على تنظيم جولات معرفية داخل الأرض الفلسطينية، هدفت إلى ربط الموروث الشعبي بالمكان وتعزيز الوعي بالهوية الثقافية، وشارك بدور واضح في عدد من فعاليات وأنشطة وزارة الثقافة، وأسهم من خلالها في إبراز قيمة التراث الشعبي والحفاظ عليه بوصفه جزءاً أصيلاً من الذاكرة الوطنية».
أرشيف تاريخي
وُلد العقرباوي في 1984 في بلدة عقربا جنوب نابلس، ونشأ في بيئة ريفية وثيقة الصلة بالأرض والذاكرة الجمعية، وهو ما شكّل الأساس لمشروعه المعرفي القائم على جمع الحكايات، توثيق الذاكرة، وربط المكان بالسرد.
وشكّل العقرباوي حلقة وصل بين الذاكرة الشعبية والتوثيق المعاصر، إذ لم يكتفِ بالرواية الشفوية، بل عمل على وضعها ضمن سياقات تاريخية واقتصادية واجتماعية، مساهِماً في صون الهوية الثقافية الفلسطينية ونقلها إلى الأجيال بأسلوب نقدي ومنهجي.
وأسّس العقرباوي أرشيفاً يضم مجموعة متنوعة من الصور والوثائق التاريخية، من بينها دفاتر قديمة، وشهادات، ووثائق ملكية، ومراسلات؛ بهدف إتاحة قراءة تاريخية دقيقة للمكان والزمان.
وتميّز أسلوبه في السرد القصصي بالاعتماد على البحث الميداني والتوثيق الملموس، إلى جانب تقديم عروض في القرى والمواقع المفتوحة، حوّلت الجغرافيا الفلسطينية إلى نص حي يجسّد الذاكرة الجماعية للأجيال. وكان يؤمن بأن الحكايات الشعبية ليست مجرد وسيلة للتسلية، بل تُعد مصدراً أساسياً من مصادر المعرفة الحقيقية.
The Palestinian cultural scene has lost the researcher and storyteller Hamza Al-Aqrabawi, known by the title "The Storyteller of Palestine," who passed away in Cairo.
Documenting Palestinian Heritage
The Palestinian Ministry of Culture mourned Al-Aqrabawi, famously known as "The Storyteller of Palestine," after he passed away in Cairo, in news that brought back to the forefront his journey related to documenting the popular heritage and the collective memory of Palestine.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, it clarified that Al-Aqrabawi was among those interested in collecting popular heritage and everything related to the details of daily life in Palestine, relying in his writings on popular memory and collective identity. He has several published research papers and articles that documented various aspects of Palestinian heritage.
It added: "Al-Aqrabawi paid special attention to collecting archives, especially those that reflect the details of the daily life of Palestinians. He also organized knowledge tours within the Palestinian territories, aimed at linking popular heritage to the place and enhancing awareness of cultural identity. He played a clear role in several events and activities of the Ministry of Culture, contributing through them to highlighting the value of popular heritage and preserving it as an integral part of national memory."
Historical Archive
Al-Aqrabawi was born in 1984 in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, and grew up in a rural environment closely connected to the land and collective memory, which formed the foundation for his knowledge project based on collecting stories, documenting memory, and linking place to narrative.
Al-Aqrabawi served as a link between popular memory and contemporary documentation, as he did not limit himself to oral storytelling but worked to place it within historical, economic, and social contexts, contributing to the preservation of Palestinian cultural identity and its transmission to future generations in a critical and methodological manner.
He established an archive that includes a diverse collection of historical photos and documents, including old notebooks, certificates, property documents, and correspondence, with the aim of providing an accurate historical reading of place and time.
His storytelling style was characterized by reliance on field research and tangible documentation, alongside presenting performances in villages and open sites, transforming the Palestinian geography into a living text that embodies the collective memory of generations. He believed that folk tales are not merely a means of entertainment but are a fundamental source of true knowledge.
