أكّد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مجدداً استحالة سماح بلاده لطهران بحيازة سلاح نووي، كاشفاً عن أن التفاهمات بين الطرفين بلغت مراحلها الأخيرة.
وفي تصريحات أدلى بها للصحفيين من مطار «جون كينيدي» في نيويورك، أشار ترمب إلى إمكانية بلورة رؤية واضحة بشأن الاتفاق المرتقب خلال أيام قليلة، معرباً عن تطلعه لإبرام صفقة وصفها بـ «الرائعة».
السلاح الاقتصادي بديلًا للمواجهة العسكرية
شدد الرئيس الأمريكي على الجدوى العالية للحصار المفروض على طهران، معتبراً الضغط الاقتصادي خياراً أفضل بكثير من اللجوء إلى القوة العسكرية، وأضاف:«الاقتصاد الإيراني يمر بمرحلة صعبة، وهم بحاجة ماسة لإبرام هذا الاتفاق».
وفي سياق متصل، جدد ترمب هجومه على الاتفاق النووي السابق، واصفاً إياه بـ «الفشل الذريع». وعن التوترات الميدانية الأخيرة في المنطقة، كشف عن إجرائه محادثات إيجابية للغاية مع رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، معلقاً على التصعيد الأخير باقتضاب: «إيران قصفت إسرائيل، والأخيرة ردت، والأمر انتهى عند هذا الحد».
مؤشرات على «انتصار كامل»
تأتي هذه التصريحات امتداداً لإشارات أطلقها ترمب خلال تجمع انتخابي لدعم السيناتور ليندسي غراهام في كارولاينا الجنوبية، حيث لمّح إلى إمكانية إعلان الولايات المتحدة «انتصاراً كاملاً» على إيران غضون أسبوعين.
وأوضح ترمب طبيعة سير المحادثات قائلاً: «المفاوضات جارية الآن، والإيرانيون يبدون رغبة جادة في صياغة اتفاق ممتاز؛ إنهم مستعدون لتقديم كل التنازلات الممكنة، بما في ذلك التخلي التام عن طموحاتهم النووية».
U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated the impossibility of allowing Tehran to possess nuclear weapons, revealing that the understandings between the two sides have reached their final stages.
In statements made to reporters at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, Trump indicated the possibility of formulating a clear vision regarding the anticipated agreement within a few days, expressing his hope to finalize a deal he described as "fantastic."
The Economic Weapon as an Alternative to Military Confrontation
The U.S. President emphasized the high effectiveness of the sanctions imposed on Tehran, considering economic pressure to be a much better option than resorting to military force. He added, "The Iranian economy is going through a tough phase, and they are in desperate need of concluding this agreement."
In a related context, Trump renewed his attack on the previous nuclear agreement, describing it as a "complete failure." Regarding the recent field tensions in the region, he revealed that he had very positive talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, commenting on the recent escalation succinctly: "Iran attacked Israel, and the latter responded, and that was the end of it."
Indicators of a "Complete Victory"
These statements come as an extension of signals Trump launched during a campaign rally to support Senator Lindsey Graham in South Carolina, where he hinted at the possibility of the United States declaring a "complete victory" over Iran within two weeks.
Trump clarified the nature of the ongoing talks, saying: "Negotiations are ongoing now, and the Iranians seem to have a serious desire to craft an excellent agreement; they are willing to make all possible concessions, including completely abandoning their nuclear ambitions."
