كشفت مصادر مطلعة لـ«عكاظ» أن قائمة المرشح أحمد الشريف انسحبت من سباق الترشح لرئاسة نادي الوحدة، وذلك قبل ساعات من إغلاق باب الترشح.

وأوضحت المصادر أن الرئيس السابق للنادي حازم اللحياني بات المرشح الأوفر حظاً في المرحلة الحالية، في ظل تزايد الدعم الذي يحظى به من عدد من أعضاء الشرف، ومن بينهم أعضاء لديهم مطالبات مالية سابقة على النادي، يُتوقع تحويلها إلى أصوات انتخابية وفق الآليات المعتمدة.

وفي تطور متصل، دخلت قائمة نائب الرئيس الدكتور تركي مدخلي، بشكل رسمي في سباق الترشح، وذلك بالتزامن مع تمديد فترة استقبال طلبات الترشح حتى الساعة الـ9:00 مساءً من يوم الثلاثاء؛ بسبب عطل فني بالموقع الإلكتروني الخاص بالانتخابات والتابع لوزارة الرياضة.

وأضافت المصادر أن الساعات الأخيرة التي تسبق إغلاق باب الترشح قد تشهد مزيداً من التغيرات في المشهد الانتخابي، مع احتمالية انسحاب أو تراجع بعض القوائم الأخرى، في ظل مؤشرات ترجّح كفة اللحياني، واستمرار حالة الترقب بين المرشحين وحساباتهم المتعلقة بفرص الفوز والاستمرار في السباق الانتخابي.

Informed sources revealed to "Okaz" that the candidacy list of Ahmed Al-Sharif has withdrawn from the race for the presidency of Al-Wahda Club, just hours before the deadline for nominations.

The sources indicated that the club's former president, Hazem Al-Luhayani, has become the frontrunner at this stage, amid increasing support he is receiving from several honorary members, including members who have previous financial claims against the club, which are expected to be converted into electoral votes according to the established mechanisms.

In a related development, the list of Vice President Dr. Turki Makhli officially entered the race for candidacy, coinciding with the extension of the nomination submission period until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, due to a technical malfunction on the election website affiliated with the Ministry of Sports.

The sources added that the final hours leading up to the closure of the nomination period may witness further changes in the electoral scene, with the possibility of withdrawal or retraction from some other lists, given the indicators favoring Al-Luhayani, and the ongoing state of anticipation among candidates regarding their chances of winning and continuing in the electoral race.
