أكد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون أن لبنان أمام استحقاق مصيري بين دولة سيدة تحتكر السلاح أو البقاء رهينة منطق المليشيات، بينما طالب رئيس الوزراء نواف سلام حزب الله بتسليم سلاحه ودعم مفاوضات واشنطن.

وقال عون في الذكرى الـ48 لاغتيال الوزير السابق طوني سليمان فرنجيه، اليوم السبت: «نحن في لحظة لا تحتمل الترف الطائفي ولا التجاذب المناطقي».

وقُتل فرنجية وزوجته فيرا وابنتهما جيهان، وعدد من مرافقيه وأنصاره في هجوم استهدف مقر إقامته في بلدة إهدن شمالي لبنان، عام 1978 خلال الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية.

وأضاف عون: «تحل هذه الذكرى الأليمة ولبنان اليوم يقف أمام استحقاق مصيري: إما أن يُجمع أبناؤه على دولة سيدة، تحتكر السلاح وتسود القانون، وتصون المواطن بصرف النظر عن انتمائه وموقعه، وإما أن يظل رهينَ منطق المليشيات وثقافة الإلغاء».

وشدّد على أن لبنان في لحظة لا تحتمل الترف الطائفي ولا التجاذب المناطقي، مؤكداً أن الوحدة الوطنية اليوم ليست شعاراً يُرفع في المناسبات، بل هي ضرورة وجودية تُبنى بالمصارحة، وتُعزَّز بالعدالة، وتتجذر بالإنصاف لكل مكونات هذا الشعب دون استثناء.

ولفت إلى أنه يسعى إلى لبنان يعيش فيه أبناؤه أحراراً متساوين، لا تجمعهم فقط الجغرافيا بل تجمعهم المواطنة الحقيقية والانتماء إلى دولة الحق والقانون.

واعتبر عون أن استحضار الذاكرة لهذا الحدث المؤلم يحتم علينا أن نتعلم من دروس الدم ما لم تعلمنا إياه سنوات السلم، فالذاكرة الوطنية الصادقة لا تنتقي جراحها، بل تحملها كلها لتبني على ألمها عهداً بعدم التكرار.

من جانبه، طلب رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام من حزب الله إنقاذ البلاد وتغليب مصلحتها على مصلحة إيران، وأن يكون على مسار واحد مع الحكومة لتأمين الانسحاب الإسرائيلي من جنوب لبنان، على حد قوله.

وقال سلام لرويترز على حزب الله إن يكون أسرع منا، أو ليكن على السرعة نفسها، وليعلن دعمه للمفاوضات التي نجريها في واشنطن.

ومن المقرر أن تستأنف ‌هذه المفاوضات بين إسرائيل ولبنان، برعاية أمريكية، في 22 يونيو الجاري.

ميدانياً، شن الطيران الحربي الإسرائيلي، اليوم، غارات على جنوب لبنان بعد توجيه إنذار لـ20 بلدة وقرية، بينها مدينة النبطية.

وذكرت الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام أن الغارات استهدفت بلدات عدة بينها كفرحونة والريحان وسجد، علماً أن البلدتين الأخيرتين تقعان على مسافة غير بعيدة من النبطية.

وقُتل شخص، في وقت سابق مع استمرار الغارات الإسرائيلية على جنوب لبنان.

ووجّه المتحدث باسم الجيش باللغة العربية أفيخاي أدرعي في منشور على منصة "إكس"، إنذاراً عاجلاً إلى سكان 20 قرية وبلدة بالإجلاء والاتجاه إلى شمال الزهراني الواقع على بعد حوالى 40 كيلومتراً من الحدود. وأضاف أن حزب الله يخرق اتفاق وقف اطلاق النار، وأن الجيش الإسرائيلي يعمل ضده بقوة.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed that Lebanon is facing a fateful challenge between a sovereign state that monopolizes weapons or remaining hostage to the logic of militias, while Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called on Hezbollah to hand over its weapons and support the negotiations in Washington.

Aoun said on the 48th anniversary of the assassination of former minister Tony Sleiman Frangieh, today Saturday: “We are at a moment that cannot bear sectarian luxury or regional tug-of-war.”

Frangieh, his wife Vera, their daughter Jihan, and several of his companions and supporters were killed in an attack targeting his residence in the town of Ehden in northern Lebanon in 1978 during the Lebanese Civil War.

Aoun added: “This painful anniversary comes while Lebanon stands today before a fateful challenge: either its sons unite for a sovereign state that monopolizes weapons and upholds the law, protecting citizens regardless of their affiliation and position, or it remains hostage to the logic of militias and the culture of cancellation.”

He emphasized that Lebanon is at a moment that cannot bear sectarian luxury or regional tug-of-war, asserting that national unity today is not a slogan raised on occasions, but rather an existential necessity built on transparency, reinforced by justice, and rooted in fairness for all components of this people without exception.

He pointed out that he seeks a Lebanon where its children live freely and equally, united not only by geography but by true citizenship and belonging to a state of rights and law.

Aoun considered that recalling the memory of this painful event compels us to learn from the lessons of blood that years of peace did not teach us, as true national memory does not select its wounds but carries them all to build on its pain a covenant of non-repetition.

For his part, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam asked Hezbollah to save the country and prioritize its interests over those of Iran, and to be on the same path as the government to ensure the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, according to his statement.

Salam told Reuters that Hezbollah should be faster than us, or at least at the same speed, and should announce its support for the negotiations we are conducting in Washington.

The negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, under American sponsorship, are scheduled to resume on June 22.

On the ground, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on southern Lebanon today after issuing a warning to 20 towns and villages, including the city of Nabatieh.

The National News Agency reported that the airstrikes targeted several towns, including Kfarhouna, Al-Rihani, and Sajd, noting that the last two towns are not far from Nabatieh.

A person was killed earlier as Israeli airstrikes continued in southern Lebanon.

The spokesperson for the army in Arabic, Avichai Adraee, issued an urgent warning on the "X" platform to the residents of 20 villages and towns to evacuate and head north to Zahrani, located about 40 kilometers from the border. He added that Hezbollah is violating the ceasefire agreement and that the Israeli army is acting strongly against it.
