في واقعة صادمة، تعرض منتخب إنجلترا، الذي يضم بين صفوفه نجم الأهلي إيفان توني، للسرقة قبل خوض حصته التدريبية الأولى في ولاية كانساس الأمريكية، استعداداً لمواجهة كرواتيا المقررة يوم الأربعاء القادم في الجولة الافتتاحية من بطولة كأس العالم 2026، بحسب ما أفادت به صحيفة «ديلي ميل».
اختفاء أحذية النجوم ومعدات التدريب
وأوضحت الصحيفة البريطانية أن أحذية رياضية تخص أكبر نجوم الفريق قد سُرقت، إلى جانب كرات البطولة الرسمية ومعدات التدريب الرئيسية.
السرقة أثناء نقل الشحنة
وأضافت أن السرقة وقعت أثناء نقل الشحنة من ويست بالم بيتش في فلوريدا إلى مجمع سوب لكرة القدم في ميسوري، ومن المقرر أن يتدرب رجال توماس توخيل هناك لأول مرة بعد ظهر يوم السبت.
وتابعت الصحيفة أنه لم يتبقَّ سوى كرة قدم واحدة ضمن الشحنة المتبقية، في حين توجد مخاوف من أن تكون الأحذية التي تعود لأمثال هاري كين وجود بيلينغهام قد اختفت أيضاً.
تحقيقات لاستعادة المسروقات
ويشتبه أفراد الأمن في تورط سائقين كانوا قد وُضعوا محل ثقة لتوصيل المعدات، ويتواصل الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم حالياً مع الشرطة المحلية في محاولات حثيثة لاستعادة المسروقات، في حين يعاني الموظفون من صدمة السرقة ويواجهون سباقاً مع الزمن لاستعادة أو استبدال العناصر الأساسية لخططهم الدقيقة.

The newspaper continued that only one football remains from the remaining shipment, while there are concerns that the shoes belonging to the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham may have also disappeared.
