أعلنت وزارة الداخلية السورية اعتقال رأفت أنور العامودي المتورط في عمليات اعتقال وتغييب قسري في محافظة درعا جنوب البلاد خلال عهد بشار الأسد.

وأفادت الوزارة في بيان اليوم السبت، بأن قوى الأمن الداخلي، بالتنسيق مع إدارة مكافحة الإرهاب، أوقفت العامودي، وهو أحد أبرز المطلوبين لضلوعه في العمل لصالح مليشيا «اللجان الشعبية» التابعة للنظام السابق في محافظة درعا.

وأضافت أن التحقيقات الأولية تشير إلى تورط الموقوف في عمليات اعتقال وتغييب قسري طالت عدداً من أبناء المحافظة، بالتنسيق المباشر مع الأجهزة الأمنية، ولفتت إلى أن سجلات التحقيق بينت أن العامودي عمل لصالح رئيس فرع الأمن العسكري السابق العميد وفيق الناصر، كما نشط تحت إشراف المساعد أسامة أبو جعفر.

ووفق الوزارة، أظهرت الأدلة تعاونه الوثيق مع فرع المخابرات الجوية بقيادة العقيد قصي ميهوب، إذ تمثّل دوره في تسليم مطلوبين للأجهزة الأمنية، ثم ابتزاز ذويهم مالياً عبر التفاوض معهم مقابل مبالغ طائلة لقاء وعود كاذبة بالإفراج عنهم.

وأشارت إلى أن الجهات المختصة تواصل تحقيقاتها مع المقبوض عليه؛ لكشف كامل ملابسات القضية، تمهيداً لتقديمه إلى العدالة لينال جزاءه القانوني.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of Raafat Anwar Al-Amoudi, who is involved in operations of arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance in Daraa province in the south of the country during Bashar Al-Assad's regime.

The ministry stated in a statement today, Saturday, that internal security forces, in coordination with the Anti-Terrorism Directorate, apprehended Al-Amoudi, who is one of the most wanted individuals for his involvement in working for the "Popular Committees" militia affiliated with the former regime in Daraa province.

It added that initial investigations indicate the detainee's involvement in operations of arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance that affected a number of the province's residents, in direct coordination with security agencies. It pointed out that investigation records showed that Al-Amoudi worked for the former head of the military security branch, Brigadier General Wafiq Al-Nasser, and was active under the supervision of Assistant Osama Abu Jaafar.

According to the ministry, the evidence revealed his close cooperation with the Air Force Intelligence branch led by Colonel Qusay Mayhub, where his role involved handing over wanted individuals to security agencies, and then extorting their families financially by negotiating with them for large sums in exchange for false promises of their release.

It noted that the relevant authorities continue their investigations with the apprehended individual to uncover all the circumstances of the case, in preparation for presenting him to justice to receive his legal punishment.
