فيما أكد متحدث باسم الحكومة الباكستانية أن توقيع مذكرة التفاهم سيتم غداً إلكترونياً عبر تقنية الفيديو بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، كشفت وسائل إعلام أمريكية اليوم (السبت) الأسباب وراء التوقيع الإلكتروني.

وذكر موقع «أكسيوس» أن مذكرة التفاهم المرتقبة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران من المقرر أن تُوقَّع إلكترونياً غداً (الأحد)، بعد نحو ثلاثة أشهر من المفاوضات التي جرت بوساطة باكستان وقطر ومصر وتركيا.

ونقل الموقع عن مسؤولين أمريكيين ومصادر في الدول الوسيطة قولهم إن التوقيع سيُجرى افتراضياً لأسباب لوجستية بالدرجة الأولى، مبينين أن من بين الأسباب الرئيسية لاعتماد مراسم توقيع إلكترونية حاجة نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه دي فانس، الذي يقود فريق التفاوض الأمريكي، إلى التواجد في الولايات المتحدة، في ظل توجه الرئيس دونالد ترمب (الاثنين) إلى قمة مجموعة السبع في فرنسا.

من جهتها، استبعدت إيران أي توقيع لمذكرة تفاهم مع الولايات المتحدة خلال الـ24 ساعة، مؤكدة على لسان المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي: «علينا الانتظار لمعرفة الموعد المحدد للتوقيع، لن يكون غداً، وربما يحصل ذلك في الأيام القادمة».

غير أن مصادر أخرى قالت إن وفداً إيرانياً يضم وزير الخارجية عباس عراقجي سيصل إلى باكستان غداً (الأحد)، مشيرة إلى أن مهمة الوفد الإيراني ستكون الإشراف على المحادثات الفنية المتعلقة بالاتفاق بين واشنطن وطهران.

من جهة أخرى، أجرى رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، الذي يُرجَّح أن تشارك بلاده في نزع الألغام، مكالمات مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، ناقش خلالها الجهود الرامية لإنهاء الصراع مع إيران.

وقال مقر رئاسة الوزراء البريطاني (داونينغ ستريت) إن ستارمر رحّب بالتقدم المحرز حتى الآن، مؤكداً مجدداً أن بريطانيا على استعداد لدعم تنفيذ أي اتفاق سلام والعمل مع الشركاء الدوليين لضمان نجاحه.

واتفق الزعيمان أيضاً على ضرورة استعادة حرية الملاحة لتخفيف تداعيات الصراع على الاقتصاد العالمي.

While a spokesperson for the Pakistani government confirmed that the memorandum of understanding will be signed tomorrow electronically via video technology between the United States and Iran, American media revealed today (Saturday) the reasons behind the electronic signing.

The Axios website mentioned that the anticipated memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran is scheduled to be signed electronically tomorrow (Sunday), after nearly three months of negotiations mediated by Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.

The site quoted American officials and sources from the mediating countries as saying that the signing will take place virtually primarily for logistical reasons, indicating that one of the main reasons for adopting electronic signing ceremonies is the need for U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who leads the American negotiating team, to be present in the United States, as President Donald Trump is heading (on Monday) to the G7 summit in France.

For its part, Iran ruled out any signing of a memorandum of understanding with the United States within the next 24 hours, emphasizing through the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei: “We have to wait to know the specific date for the signing; it will not be tomorrow, and it may happen in the coming days.”

However, other sources indicated that an Iranian delegation, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Sunday), noting that the mission of the Iranian delegation will be to oversee the technical discussions related to the agreement between Washington and Tehran.

On another note, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is likely to have his country participate in mine clearance, held calls with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which they discussed efforts to end the conflict with Iran.

Downing Street, the British Prime Minister's office, stated that Starmer welcomed the progress made so far, reiterating that Britain is ready to support the implementation of any peace agreement and work with international partners to ensure its success.

The two leaders also agreed on the necessity of restoring freedom of navigation to mitigate the conflict's impact on the global economy.
