سبب أساسي لثقافة تمجيد الماضي والأنماط السلبية فيه والذي هو أفيون الشعوب الذي أدى لخلق الحلم الطوباوي للجماعات الإرهابية الإسلاموية تحت شعار إعادة العظمة المزعومة للماضي بالعنف؛ هو أنه تمت قراءة أحداث التاريخ بمنظور غير موضوعي قائم على تمجيد أعمال العنف بغض النظر عن آثارها وتبعاتها الكارثية، ولو استمر هذا المنظور فبعد عدة أجيال سيقوم العرب بصنع فيلم تمجيد لزعماء حماس لأنهم قاموا بعملية 7 أكتوبر التي نتج عن ردة فعل الانتقامية الإسرائيلية عليها مقتل أكثر من 100 ألف مدني غالبهم أطفال وربع مليون مصاب ومعاق بترت أطرافهم وأصيبوا بالشلل وفقدوا البصر وتشوهوا بشكل شنيع، وصارت غزة فيها أكبر عدد من الأطفال مبتوري الأطراف بالتاريخ، وتدمّرت غزة بالكامل بعد أن كانت تشبه مدن خليجية بتطورها بسبب إعادة إعمارها بأموال خليجية سابقاً، وسكانها 2 مليون ونصف مشردين بالخيام يموتون من شدة الحر والبرد عاطلين عن التعليم والعمل ويتعرضون للقتل اليومي أثناء محاولتهم الحصول على المساعدات الغذائية، وكل هذا لأجل عملية فوائدها صفر، وأي عمل مسلح ليكون مشروعاً يجب أن تكون فوائده أكبر من أضراره ويجعل المدنيين أكثر أمناً، أما إن لم يجعل المدنيين أكثر أمناً، واستجلب عليهم ردة الفعل الانتقامية التي دمرتهم وأبادتهم، ففي هذا الحال ما توصف بالمقاومة هي إجرام بحق المدنيين، وما فعلته حماس في 7 أكتوبر وتسبّب بالكارثة الحالية لغزة هو تماماً ما تم فعله في ليبيا وتسبّب بذات النكبة والإبادة الجماعية للمدنيين الليبيين ولم يحقق أدنى فائدة ولم يزحزح الاحتلال الإيطالي شبراً عن ليبيا، وما أجبر إيطاليا على الانسحاب هو دول الحلفاء الغربيين بعد خسارتها بالحرب العالمية، وطالما يتم تمجيد أصحاب أعمال العنف بسبب أن هذا يمنح نشوة لنرجسية غرور الأنا فسيبقى يتكرر نفس النمط؛ رجل وجماعته يقومون بأعمال عنف ضد قوى كبرى ويستجلبون ردة الفعل الانتقامية على مجتمعاتهم التي تؤدي لتدمير وإبادة شعوبهم، وحالياً نرى أجيالاً جديدة ولدت بعدها تمجّد إرهابيين، ولا يتداولون الخسائر المهولة التي حصلت للمسلمين بسبب ردة الفعل الانتقامية على هجمات 11 سبتمبر، فحسب مشروع «تكاليف الحرب-Costs of War» بجامعة براون الأمريكية أدت ردة الفعل الانتقامية الأمريكية على هجمات 11 سبتمبر إلى تهجير (49-60 مليون) شخص، وقتل حوالى 5-6 ملايين، وكان من نتائج احتلال العراق تغوّل إيران بالمنطقة العربية بعد هيمنتها على العراق والذي من نتائجه الحرب الحالية باليمن، ولذا ما يحتاجه المسلمون حالياً ليس أفلاماً ومسلسلات تمجد أعمال العنف التاريخية؛ لأنها تمثل مصدر إلهام وتشجيع للإرهابيين، فما يحتاجه المسلمون حالياً أفلاماً ومسلسلات تمجد المسلمين أصحاب الأعمال التي جعلت العالم أفضل، ويعيد تمحور الإسلام حول ثقافة الحب والحكمة وترقية النفوس كما يقول الصوفية بدل ثقافة العنف، وتتناول سير العلماء المسلمين المعاصرين الذي فازوا بجوائز نوبل، ونجوم العمل الخيري، ومن يلقبون بغاندي المسلمين مثل المفكر الإسلامي العربي جودت سعيد، والشيخ أحمدو بمبا الذي قاوم الاستعمار الفرنسي بالسنغال بالطرق السلمية، وعبدالغفار خان الذي أسس حركة «خدام الله» كأول جيش محترف لاعنفي بالعالم وغالبهم بشتون أي نفس قومية طالبان بنضاله السلمي ضد الاستعمار البريطاني للهند، والفلسطينيين لم يحصلوا على حكم ذاتي بسبب العمليات المسلحة إنما بسبب المفاوضات، وحكومة الفصل العنصري بجنوب أفريقيا سقطت بالنضال السلمي والمقاطعة الدولية وغالباً هذا ما سيحصل لإسرائيل.

A fundamental reason for the culture of glorifying the past and the negative patterns within it, which is the opium of the people that led to the creation of the utopian dream for Islamist terrorist groups under the banner of restoring the alleged greatness of the past through violence, is that historical events have been interpreted from a non-objective perspective based on glorifying acts of violence regardless of their catastrophic effects and consequences. All of this for an operation with zero benefits. Any armed action must have benefits that outweigh its harms and make civilians safer. If it does not make civilians safer and brings upon them a retaliatory response that destroys and annihilates them, then what is described as resistance is a crime against civilians. What Hamas did on October 7, causing the current catastrophe in Gaza, is exactly what was done in Libya, leading to the same catastrophe and genocide of Libyan civilians without achieving any benefit or displacing the Italian occupation by an inch. What forced Italy to withdraw was the Western Allied countries after its defeat in World War II. As long as those who commit acts of violence are glorified because this gives a thrill to the narcissism of the ego, the same pattern will continue to repeat; a man and his group commit acts of violence against major powers and provoke a retaliatory response on their communities that leads to the destruction and annihilation of their peoples. Currently, we see new generations being born that glorify terrorists, and they do not discuss the enormous losses that Muslims suffered due to the retaliatory response to the September 11 attacks. According to the "Costs of War" project at Brown University, the American retaliatory response to the September 11 attacks led to the displacement of 49-60 million people and the deaths of about 5-6 million. The occupation of Iraq resulted in Iran's dominance in the Arab region after it gained control over Iraq, which in turn led to the current war in Yemen. Therefore, what Muslims need now is not films and series that glorify historical acts of violence, as they represent a source of inspiration and encouragement for terrorists. What Muslims need now are films and series that glorify Muslims who have made the world a better place, refocusing Islam around a culture of love and wisdom and uplifting souls, as the Sufis say, instead of a culture of violence. They should cover the lives of contemporary Muslim scholars who have won Nobel Prizes, stars of charitable work, and those referred to as the Gandhi of Muslims, such as the Arab Islamic thinker Jawdat Said, Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, who resisted French colonialism in Senegal through peaceful means, and Abdul Ghaffar Khan, who founded the "Khilafat Movement" as the world's first professional non-violent army, most of whom were Pashtun, the same ethnic group as the Taliban in their peaceful struggle against British colonialism in India. The Palestinians did not achieve self-rule through armed operations but rather through negotiations, and the apartheid government in South Africa fell through peaceful struggle and international boycotts, and this is likely what will happen to Israel.
