تحولت احتفالات رأس السنة في فرنسا إلى ليلة ساخنة على وقع النيران والتوقيفات، بعدما أعلنت وزارة الداخلية تسجيل حرق 1173 سيارة وتوقيف أكثر من 500 شخص في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، خلال ليلة وصفتها السلطات بأنها شهدت «أعمال عنف محدودة».
وكشفت الداخلية الفرنسية توقيف نحو 505 أشخاص، أُودع 403 منهم رهن الحجز الاحتياطي، مؤكدة أن الأجواء العامة كانت أقل توتراً مقارنة بالعام الماضي، رغم الارتفاع اللافت في عدد المركبات التي أُضرمت فيها النيران، مقارنة بـ984 سيارة في العام 2024.
وأوضحت الوزارة أن ولاة المناطق أجمعوا على تراجع حدة الاضطرابات في الأحياء، مع انخفاض استهداف قوات الأمن، على الرغم من تعرض عناصر الشرطة لإطلاق ألعاب نارية في عدة مدن، من بينها نيس وليون وستراسبورغ ورين.
ولتأمين الاحتفالات، دفعت السلطات بنحو 90 ألف عنصر من الشرطة والدرك، من بينهم 10 آلاف في باريس وضواحيها، وهو الانتشار الأمني ذاته المعتمد في العام الماضي.
وفي العاصمة باريس وحدها وُضع 125 شخصاً رهن الحجز الاحتياطي، تراوحت أعمارهم بين 17 و53 عاماً، من بينهم 15 قاصراً وامرأة واحدة فقط. وسُجلت غالبية التوقيفات بعد منتصف الليل، وتحديداً قرابة الساعة الثانية فجراً.
وتنوعت التهم بين العنف المتعمد، والمشاركة في تجمعات بهدف التخريب، وحيازة مواد ذات تأثير نفسي، إضافة إلى قضايا تعاطي المخدرات.
وكان وزير الداخلية لوران نونيز قد شدد مسبقاً على عدم التساهل مع أي تجاوزات خلال ليلة رأس السنة، متوعداً بتوقيفات فورية، فيما دعا وزير العدل جيرالد دارمانان إلى أقصى درجات الحزم، مطالباً بعقوبات مشددة، لاسيما في القضايا التي تستهدف قوات الأمن أو تمس النساء والأطفال.
New Year's celebrations in France turned into a heated night marked by fires and arrests, after the Ministry of the Interior announced the burning of 1,173 vehicles and the arrest of more than 500 people across the country, during a night described by authorities as having witnessed "limited acts of violence."
The French Interior Ministry revealed the arrest of about 505 individuals, of whom 403 were placed in provisional detention, confirming that the overall atmosphere was less tense compared to last year, despite the notable increase in the number of vehicles set on fire, compared to 984 vehicles in 2024.
The ministry explained that regional governors agreed on a decrease in the intensity of disturbances in neighborhoods, with a reduction in targeting of security forces, although police officers were subjected to firework attacks in several cities, including Nice, Lyon, Strasbourg, and Rennes.
To secure the celebrations, the authorities deployed about 90,000 police and gendarmerie personnel, including 10,000 in Paris and its suburbs, which is the same security deployment as last year.
In the capital Paris alone, 125 individuals were placed in provisional detention, aged between 17 and 53 years, including 15 minors and only one woman. The majority of arrests were recorded after midnight, specifically around 2 AM.
The charges varied from intentional violence, participation in gatherings aimed at vandalism, possession of psychoactive substances, in addition to drug-related offenses.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez had previously emphasized that there would be no leniency towards any violations during New Year's Eve, threatening immediate arrests, while Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin called for the utmost firmness, demanding stricter penalties, especially in cases targeting security forces or affecting women and children.
