أكد المدرب الوطني خالد القروني أن فترة إعداد المنتخب السعودي قبل انطلاق كأس العالم 2026 كانت كافية إلى حدٍ كبير، رغم التغييرات التي شهدها الجهازان الفني والإداري خلال الفترة الماضية.

وأوضح القروني أن الجهاز الفني الحالي استفاد من الفترة المتاحة للتعرف بشكل أكبر على إمكانات اللاعبين وعناصر المنتخب، مشيراً إلى أن انتهاء الموسم المحلي قبل فترة وجيزة من البطولة ساهم في الحفاظ على جاهزية اللاعبين من الناحيتين البدنية والفنية.

وأضاف أن النتائج في المباريات الودية ليست المعيار الأهم خلال مرحلة الإعداد، بقدر ما تمثله من فرصة للوقوف على مستويات اللاعبين وتجربة الخيارات الفنية المختلفة قبل خوض المنافسات الرسمية.

وأشار القروني إلى أن المنتخبات التي واجهها الأخضر ودياً كانت قريبة في خصائصها الفنية من منتخبات مجموعته في المونديال، مبيناً أن مواجهة الإكوادور منحت المنتخب فرصة للاحتكاك بمدرسة كروية مشابهة للأوروغواي، فيما وفرت مواجهة السنغال اختباراً قريباً من أسلوب منتخب الرأس الأخضر من حيث القوة البدنية والسرعة.

واختتم القروني حديثه بالتأكيد على أن المنتخب السعودي يمتلك عناصر قادرة على الظهور بصورة مشرفة في كأس العالم، متمنياً للأخضر التوفيق وتحقيق نتائج إيجابية تليق بالكرة السعودية في المحفل العالمي.

The national coach Khalid Al-Quroni confirmed that the preparation period for the Saudi national team before the start of the 2026 World Cup was largely sufficient, despite the changes that occurred in the technical and administrative staff during the past period.

Al-Quroni explained that the current technical staff benefited from the available time to better understand the players' capabilities and the elements of the team, noting that the conclusion of the local season shortly before the tournament helped maintain the players' readiness both physically and technically.

He added that the results in friendly matches are not the most important criterion during the preparation phase, as much as they represent an opportunity to assess the players' levels and experiment with different technical options before entering official competitions.

Al-Quroni pointed out that the teams the Green faced in friendlies were similar in their technical characteristics to the teams in their World Cup group, indicating that facing Ecuador provided the team with an opportunity to engage with a football style similar to that of Uruguay, while the match against Senegal offered a test close to the playing style of Cape Verde in terms of physical strength and speed.

Al-Quroni concluded his remarks by affirming that the Saudi national team has elements capable of presenting a commendable performance in the World Cup, wishing the Green success and positive results that befit Saudi football on the global stage.
