أكد الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي أن العلاقات بين دول مجلس التعاون وجمهورية الهند تشهد زخماً متنامياً، مدفوعاً بالإرادة المشتركة لتعزيز التعاون والشراكة بما يخدم المصالح المتبادلة، ويسهم في دعم الأمن والاستقرار والازدهار في المنطقة.

جاء ذلك خلال كلمة اليوم (السبت)، في الاجتماع الوزاري الثاني المشترك بين مجلس التعاون وجمهورية الهند، برئاسة مشتركة من وزير خارجية مملكة البحرين -رئيس الدورة الحالية- الدكتور عبداللطيف بن راشد الزياني، ووزير الشؤون الخارجية في جمهورية الهند الدكتور سوبرامانيام جايشانكار، ومشاركة وزراء خارجية دول مجلس التعاون، وذلك على هامش اجتماعات الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بولاية نيويورك.

وقال الأمين العام: إن الجانبين يوليان أهمية لمواصلة تنفيذ خطة العمل المشتركة التي تم اعتمادها في عام 2024، والبناء على مخرجات الاجتماعات الفنية التي عقدت في إطارها في عدد من المجالات، بما يسهم في تحويل ما تم الاتفاق عليه إلى برامج ومبادرات عملية وملموسة.

وأشار إلى أن بدء مفاوضات اتفاقية التجارة الحرة بين مجلس التعاون وجمهورية الهند يمثل خطوة مهمة نحو توسيع آفاق التعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري، مؤكداً أهمية تعزيز التعاون في مجالات الطاقة والتكنولوجيا والابتكار والتحول الرقمي والصناعة والزراعة والخدمات، إلى جانب توفير المزيد من الفرص للقطاع الخاص، وتشجيع الاستثمارات المتبادلة، وتعزيز التواصل بين مجتمعات الأعمال لدى الجانبين.

وأكد أهمية مواصلة التنسيق الخليجي-الهندي في مكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف، والتعامل مع النزاعات والأزمات الإنسانية، وتبادل الخبرات والمعلومات، وتنسيق المواقف في المحافل الدولية، بما يدعم الأمن والسلم الدوليين ويعزز الحلول السياسية والدبلوماسية، فضلاً عن تطوير التعاون الثقافي والأكاديمي والبحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا والابتكار.

وفي الشأن الإقليمي، أشار الأمين العام إلى الاعتداءات الإيرانية التي تعرضت لها دول مجلس التعاون منذ 28 فبراير 2026، رغم أن دول المجلس لم تكن طرفاً في النزاع، مؤكداً أن تعطيل الملاحة في مضيق هرمز برهن على الارتباط المباشر بين أمن الممرات البحرية في المنطقة وأمن الطاقة العالمي وسلاسل الإمداد، مشدداً على ضرورة امتثال إيران الكامل لقرار مجلس الأمن رقم (2817)، وعودة الملاحة في مضيق هرمز وباب المندب إلى ما كانت عليه قبل 28 فبراير 2026.

وثمّن موقف جمهورية الهند الرافض للاعتداءات الإيرانية على دول مجلس التعاون، ودعمها للجهود الدولية الرامية إلى ضمان الأمن البحري وإعادة فتح مضيق هرمز، مشدداً على أهمية استمرار التشاور بين الجانبين بشأن أمن الطاقة والممرات البحرية.

وفي ختام كلمته، أعرب الأمين العام عن تطلعه إلى أن يسهم الاجتماع في تعزيز الحوار الإستراتيجي بين مجلس التعاون وجمهورية الهند، والبناء على ما تحقق من إنجازات، واستكشاف مجالات جديدة للتعاون، مثمناً التزام الجانب الهندي بتطوير العلاقات مع دول مجلس التعاون.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the relations between the GCC countries and the Republic of India are witnessing growing momentum, driven by the mutual desire to enhance cooperation and partnership in a way that serves mutual interests and contributes to supporting security, stability, and prosperity in the region.

This was stated during a speech today (Saturday) at the second joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and the Republic of India, co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain - the current session's president - Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, with the participation of the foreign ministers of the GCC countries, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States, in New York.

The Secretary-General stated that both sides attach importance to continuing the implementation of the joint action plan adopted in 2024 and building on the outcomes of the technical meetings held within its framework in several areas, which contributes to transforming what has been agreed upon into practical and tangible programs and initiatives.

He pointed out that the commencement of negotiations for a free trade agreement between the GCC and the Republic of India represents an important step towards expanding the horizons of economic and investment cooperation, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, technology, innovation, digital transformation, industry, agriculture, and services, in addition to providing more opportunities for the private sector, encouraging mutual investments, and enhancing communication between business communities on both sides.

He affirmed the importance of continuing Gulf-Indian coordination in combating terrorism and extremism, addressing conflicts and humanitarian crises, exchanging experiences and information, and coordinating positions in international forums, in a way that supports international security and peace and enhances political and diplomatic solutions, as well as developing cultural, academic, scientific research, technology, and innovation cooperation.

Regarding regional issues, the Secretary-General referred to the Iranian attacks that the GCC countries have been subjected to since February 28, 2026, despite the fact that the Council's countries were not parties to the conflict, emphasizing that the disruption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz has demonstrated the direct link between the security of maritime corridors in the region and global energy security and supply chains, stressing the necessity of Iran's full compliance with Security Council Resolution No. (2817), and the return of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb to what it was before February 28, 2026.

He valued the position of the Republic of India in rejecting the Iranian attacks on the GCC countries and its support for international efforts aimed at ensuring maritime security and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the importance of continuing consultations between the two sides regarding energy security and maritime corridors.

In conclusion, the Secretary-General expressed his hope that the meeting would contribute to enhancing the strategic dialogue between the GCC and the Republic of India, building on the achievements made, and exploring new areas for cooperation, appreciating the Indian side's commitment to developing relations with the GCC countries.
