أضاف تطبيق واتساب أدوات تتيح للأهل إدارة مزيد من إعدادات حسابات المراهقين، تشمل تحديد من يمكنه التفاعل معهم، وضبط إعدادات القنوات والحالات والمجموعات. وتمكّن الخصائص الجديدة أولياء الأمور من التحكم في الجهات التي تستطيع إضافة المراهق إلى المجموعات، ومتابعة إشعارات تتعلق بانضمامه إلى مجموعة جديدة أو مغادرتها، إلى جانب تحديد من يمكنه مشاهدة صورة الملف الشخصي وتحديثات الحالة. كما تتيح ضبط مستوى المحتوى في محادثات Meta AI، بين الإعداد الافتراضي لمن هم فوق 13 عاماً وخيار أكثر تقييداً. وتُحمى هذه الإعدادات برمز PIN يحدده ولي الأمر، فيما تظل الرسائل والمكالمات مشفّرة من طرف إلى طرف، بحسب واتساب. وتأتي الإضافات ضمن مساعي المنصة لتوسيع خيارات إدارة حسابات المراهقين، ومنح الأسر أدوات أكبر لمتابعة تجربتهم الرقمية.

WhatsApp has added tools that allow parents to manage more settings for their teenagers' accounts, including determining who can interact with them, adjusting settings for channels, statuses, and groups. The new features enable parents to control which contacts can add their teenager to groups, monitor notifications related to joining or leaving a new group, as well as specify who can see the profile picture and status updates. It also allows for adjusting the content level in Meta AI conversations, between the default setting for those over 13 and a more restrictive option. These settings are protected by a PIN set by the parent, while messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted, according to WhatsApp. These additions are part of the platform's efforts to expand options for managing teenage accounts and provide families with greater tools to monitor their digital experience.
