The Saudi national team was not alone on its path to the title of "Gulf 27"; its five matches in Jeddah recorded a total attendance of 210,194 fans, with an average exceeding 42,000 spectators per match, in a scene where the crowd's momentum grew as the Green approached gold.

The "Green" began the tournament against Kuwait with an attendance of 31,245 fans, before recording 23,186 fans for the match against Oman, and then the number rose to 41,594 against Iraq.

In the semifinals against Qatar, attendance jumped to 51,342 fans, marking the highest attendance for a Saudi national team match on home soil in the history of its Gulf Cup participations.

The final against the UAE witnessed a peak in attendance, as official match statistics revealed that 62,827 fans were present at the Al-Inma Stadium, making the final alone responsible for about 30% of the total attendance for the Green's five matches.

The Saudi national team's journey towards the "Gulf 27" title was based on remarkable defensive solidity, as the Green kept a clean sheet in all its matches, combining the championship with an exceptional defensive record.

The story began with a 1-0 victory against Kuwait, followed by a 3-0 win over Oman, and a 2-0 win against Iraq, allowing the team to finish the group stage with nine points, six goals, and a clean sheet. In the semifinals against Qatar, the resilience extended to a full 120 minutes before the Green secured qualification through penalties 3-2, raising the streak to 390 minutes without conceding a goal.

In the final against the UAE, the Saudi team completed the picture with a 2-0 victory, bringing its total journey to 480 minutes without a goal conceded, alongside eight goals scored over five matches, returning to the Gulf Cup podium for the fourth time.

While the number is rare, it is not the first of its kind globally; there have been teams that achieved complete championships without conceding goals. Cameroon did it in the Africa Cup of Nations 2002, when they played six matches and scored nine goals without conceding any, winning the title against Senegal. New Zealand also won the Oceania Cup 2024 after scoring 15 goals in four matches while keeping a clean sheet throughout the tournament.

However, the value of the Green's achievement lies in the context: a complete tournament, knockout stages, 120 minutes in the semifinals, and then the final, without any opponent being able to reach its net.

The clean sheet was not just a number for a goalkeeper or a defensive line; it was the result of a system that started with pressing, closing the depth, reducing spaces, and ended with Mohammed Al-Owais.

Eight goals secured the title... and zero in the net protected it.
