The Saudi national team recorded a new leap in the FIFA World Ranking, moving up three places after winning the Arabian Gulf Cup "Gulf 27," following their victory over the UAE national team 2-0 in the final match held at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

According to FIFA's official website, the Green Team rose to 55th place globally, after previously occupying 58th place following their participation in the 2026 World Cup, benefiting from their remarkable results during the Gulf tournament and winning the title for the fourth time in their history.

FIFA included the results of the Gulf Cup in its ranking system, reflecting the Green Team's five results on their points tally, as they accumulated 1443.17 points, achieving a total increase of 15.38 points during the tournament.

The Saudi team opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Kuwait, earning 2.27 points, then bolstered their tally with a 3-0 win against Oman, adding 3.87 points, before continuing their advance with a 2-0 victory over Iraq, gaining an additional 4.75 points.

Throughout the tournament, the Saudi team delivered an ideal performance, clinching the title without a loss and maintaining a clean sheet in all five matches, scoring eight goals, thus combining the Gulf championship with a remarkable improvement in their position in the world ranking.

The rise in the FIFA ranking is an extension of the gains achieved by the Green Team with their title win, which ended a 22-year absence from the Gulf podium since they won the sixteenth edition held between December 2003 and January 2004.
