اضطرت طائرة تابعة لشركة (إنديغو) الهندية إلى الهبوط اضطراريًا في مدينة حيدر آباد، بعد اندلاع حريق داخل خزان الأمتعة العلوي إثر انبعاث دخان من شاحن متنقل (باور بانك) يعود لأحد الركاب، خلال رحلة كانت متجهة من دلهي إلى تشيناي، في حادثة أثارت قلق المسافرين وأعادت تسليط الضوء على مخاطر الأجهزة الإلكترونية المحمولة على متن الطائرات.

وأظهر مقطع فيديو التقطه أحد الركاب محاولات عدد من المسافرين التعامل مع النيران باستخدام حقائبهم، قبل أن يتدخل طاقم الطائرة ويتمكن من إخماد الحريق باستخدام مطافئ الحريق، فيما أكدت الشركة أن جميع الركاب وأفراد الطاقم بخير ولم تُسجل أي إصابات.

وأوضحت (إنديغو) أن الرحلة رقم (6E6115)، التي كانت تشغلها طائرة من طراز (إيرباص A321‑251N)، حُوّل مسارها إلى مطار راجيف غاندي الدولي في حيدر آباد بعد رصد دخان صادر من جهاز إلكتروني شخصي لأحد الركاب، مؤكدة أن الطيارين اتبعوا إجراءات السلامة المعتمدة قبل اتخاذ قرار الهبوط.

وقدمت الشركة طائرة بديلة لاستكمال الرحلة إلى تشيناي، واعتذرت عن الإزعاج الذي تسبب فيه الحادث، مشيرة إلى أنها عملت على الحد من آثاره عبر تقديم المرطبات وإطلاع الركاب على المستجدات أولًا بأول.

ويعيد الحادث التذكير بالمخاطر المحتملة للبطاريات المحمولة والأجهزة الإلكترونية داخل الطائرات، خصوصًا مع تزايد الحوادث المرتبطة بارتفاع حرارة البطاريات أو أعطالها المفاجئة، ما يجعل الالتزام بالتعليمات أمرًا ضروريًا لضمان سلامة الرحلات الجوية.

An IndiGo airline flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Hyderabad after a fire broke out in the overhead luggage compartment due to smoke emitted from a portable charger (power bank) belonging to one of the passengers, during a flight that was headed from Delhi to Chennai, in an incident that raised concerns among travelers and highlighted the risks of portable electronic devices on board aircraft.

A video captured by one of the passengers showed several travelers attempting to deal with the flames using their bags, before the flight crew intervened and managed to extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers, while the company confirmed that all passengers and crew members were fine and no injuries were reported.

IndiGo explained that flight number (6E6115), operated by an Airbus A321‑251N, had its route diverted to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad after smoke was detected coming from a personal electronic device belonging to one of the passengers, confirming that the pilots followed the approved safety procedures before making the decision to land.

The company provided an alternative aircraft to continue the flight to Chennai and apologized for the inconvenience caused by the incident, noting that it worked to mitigate its effects by offering refreshments and keeping passengers updated regularly.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential risks of portable batteries and electronic devices inside aircraft, especially with the increasing number of incidents related to battery overheating or sudden malfunctions, making adherence to safety instructions essential to ensure the safety of flights.
