أكد قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم» الأدميرال براد كوبر، اليوم (السبت)، أن القوات الأمريكية تواصل العمل على إبقاء مضيق هرمز مفتوحاً وآمناً أمام حركة الملاحة التجارية، مشيراً إلى تسهيل عبور أكثر من مليار برميل من النفط الخام عبر المضيق خلال الشهرين الماضيين.

وقال كوبر إن القوات الأمريكية ساعدت في تأمين عبور أكثر من 2000 سفينة تجارية عبر مضيق هرمز، مؤكداً أن ممرات العبور الرئيسية خالية من الألغام، وأن آلاف السفن تواصل استخدام هذا الممر المائي الاستراتيجي.

وأضاف أن الولايات المتحدة تعمل مع شركائها على زيادة حجم حركة الملاحة عبر المضيق، موضحاً أن حجم نقل النفط والبضائع خلال الأسبوعين الماضيين سجل أعلى مستوى مقارنة بالأشهر الستة السابقة.

وفيما يتعلق بإيران، أكد قائد «سنتكوم» استمرار الولايات المتحدة في فرض حصار صارم على صادراتها النفطية، مشدداً على أن طهران لم تتمكن من تصدير أي برميل نفط في ظل الإجراءات الأمريكية.

وأوضح كوبر أن الولايات المتحدة تعمل مع حلفائها في المنطقة لتعزيز قدراتهم الدفاعية الجوية، معلناً العمل على تشكيل وحدة مشتركة جديدة لمواجهة الطائرات المسيّرة الهجومية.

ويأتي ذلك في وقت شهدت فيه الأشهر الماضية محاولات أمريكية وإيرانية لاستعادة حرية الملاحة عبر مضيق هرمز، إذ أعلنت واشنطن وطهران اتفاقين لوقف إطلاق النار في أبريل ويونيو، بهدف تهدئة الصراع وفتح الممر المائي، قبل أن ينهارا سريعاً.

The commander of the U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, confirmed today (Saturday) that U.S. forces continue to work to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and safe for commercial shipping, noting that over one billion barrels of crude oil have been facilitated through the strait in the past two months.

Cooper stated that U.S. forces have helped secure the passage of more than 2,000 commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the main transit corridors are free of mines and that thousands of vessels continue to use this strategic waterway.

He added that the United States is working with its partners to increase the volume of shipping traffic through the strait, explaining that the volume of oil and goods transported in the past two weeks reached its highest level compared to the previous six months.

Regarding Iran, the CENTCOM commander confirmed that the United States continues to impose a strict blockade on its oil exports, stressing that Tehran has not been able to export any barrel of oil under U.S. measures.

Cooper clarified that the United States is working with its allies in the region to enhance their air defense capabilities, announcing the formation of a new joint unit to counter offensive drones.

This comes at a time when the past months have witnessed U.S. and Iranian attempts to restore freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, as Washington and Tehran announced ceasefire agreements in April and June, aimed at calming the conflict and opening the waterway, before they quickly collapsed.
