فرض الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) عقوبة رسمية على الاتحاد الإسباني، إثر هتافات عنصرية ومعادية للإسلام (إسلاموفوبيا) أطلقتها الجماهير الإسبانية خلال مباراة ودية أمام منتخب مصر في مارس الماضي ببرشلونة، والتي انتهت بالتعادل السلبي.

وتشمل العقوبات إلزام الاتحاد الإسباني بدفع غرامة مالية قدرها 20 ألف دولار، إلى جانب الإغلاق الجزئي للمدرجات بنسبة لا تقل عن 15% (تحديداً خلف المرميين) في أول مباراة ودية قادمة للمنتخب على أرضه. وسمح الفيفا باستغلال هذه المقاعد المغلقة لاستضافة العائلات وأطفال المدارس كخطوة توعوية.

وتعود تفاصيل الحادثة إلى رصد هتافات جماهيرية تكررت في الشوطين الأول والثاني بلغة إسبانية تعني: "اقفز، من لا يقفز فهو مسلم". ورغم محاولات الاتحاد الإسباني الدفاعية بأن لفظ "مسلم" ليس مهيناً بحد ذاته، مطالبًا بتصنيف الواقعة كرسالة دينية وليس تمييزاً عنصرياً، إلا أن اللجنة التأديبية بالفيفا رفضت المبررات. وأكدت اللجنة أن استخدام أي مصطلح في سياق يهدف للسخرية وإظهار الدونية يعد تمييزاً صريحاً، مستشهدة بتناقض الموقف الإسباني الذي فعّل بروتوكول مناهضة العنصرية وحذّر الجماهير عبر الشاشات أثناء اللقاء.

وقد أثارت الحادثة إدانات واسعة وقتها؛ حيث وصف النجم الإسباني الأمين جمال الجماهير المسؤولة بـ"الجهلة"، بينما استنكرت الحكومة الإسبانية والمدرب لويس دي لا فوينتي الواقعة مؤكدين رفضهم القاطع للتمييز. من جانبه، أدان الاتحاد المصري الهتافات واصفاً إياها بالبشعة، مع التأكيد على متانة العلاقات الرياضية بين البلدين.

The committee confirmed that using any term in a context aimed at mockery and expressing inferiority constitutes explicit discrimination, citing the contradiction in the Spanish position, which activated the anti-racism protocol and warned fans via screens during the match.

The incident sparked widespread condemnation at the time; Spanish star Amin Jamal described the responsible fans as "ignorant," while the Spanish government and coach Luis de la Fuente condemned the incident, affirming their firm rejection of discrimination. For its part, the Egyptian Federation condemned the chants, describing them as horrific, while emphasizing the strength of the sports relations between the two countries.
