The International Football Federation "FIFA" announced that it received an apology from the British newspaper "The Times" regarding a report published on October 13, which contained inaccurate information about the salary of the federation president, Gianni Infantino, and his alleged ownership of a property in Miami, USA, at a price lower than its market value.

FIFA clarified in a statement published on its account on the "X" platform that the newspaper acknowledged the error in its claim that Infantino received an undisclosed additional salary from the international federation, noting that the expenses and reimbursements received by the federation president are not classified as financial compensation according to Swiss disclosure rules, and therefore the regulations do not require their inclusion in the federation's annual report.

Regarding the property located in Miami, the newspaper also admitted that the information about its purchase at a price lower than its true value was incorrect, explaining that Infantino and his family members do not own the company associated with the property and do not control it, contrary to what was stated in the original report.

"The Times" apologized to both Infantino and the International Football Federation for the errors in its report, confirming that it has made the necessary corrections to the published information.

In turn, FIFA pointed to what it described as ongoing and coordinated attempts to harm the federation and its president, urging media outlets to adhere to professional accuracy and verify information and its sources before publishing accusations that it deemed false and defamatory.

The international federation emphasized its support for responsible media scrutiny, while also stating its intention to take a firm stance against reports that contain misleading, inaccurate, or false information.
