أعلنت الشرطة أن الضحايا هم امرأة وستة رجال تراوح أعمارهم بين 30 و50 عاماً، وأصيب ثلاثة آخرون خلال الهجوم الذي وقع بعد منتصف الليل بقليل في بلدة كيب فلاتس، المعروفة بعنف العصابات وانتشار الجريمة.
فرار المشتبه بهم
وقال بيان الشرطة إن المشتبه بهم فرّوا من مكان الحادث، ولم يتم القبض على أي منهم حتى الآن، فيما أطلقت السلطات عملية بحث وتحقيق واسعة النطاق لكشف ملابسات الواقعة وملاحقة الجناة.
سياق الجريمة
وتشير بيانات الشرطة إلى أن البلاد سجلت بين يوليو وسبتمبر من العام الماضي نحو 63 حالة قتل يومياً في المتوسط، في حين شهد ديسمبر وقوع حادثين منفصلين اقتحم فيهما مسلحون نزلاً وحانة، ما أسفر عن مقتل عشرات الأشخاص، بينهم أطفال.
ويعد هجوم السبت في كيب فلاتس جزءاً من موجة العنف المستمرة، إذ سجلت المنطقة أكثر من 2000 جريمة قتل خلال الأشهر التسعة الأولى من 2025.
السلطات تحذّر
تواصل الشرطة التحقيق، في حين دعا المسؤولون المحليون إلى تضافر الجهود لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة وتأمين المناطق الأكثر تأثراً بالعنف المسلح.
Seven people were killed and three others were injured in a horrific armed attack that occurred near Cape Town, South Africa, early Saturday morning.

The police announced that the victims included a woman and six men aged between 30 and 50 years, and three others were injured during the attack that took place shortly after midnight in the town of Cape Flats, known for gang violence and crime.
Suspects Escape
The police statement said that the suspects fled the scene, and none of them have been arrested so far, while authorities launched a large-scale search and investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and pursue the perpetrators.
Context of the Crime
Police data indicates that the country recorded an average of about 63 murders daily between July and September of last year, while December witnessed two separate incidents in which armed men stormed a lodge and a bar, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people, including children.
Saturday's attack in Cape Flats is part of an ongoing wave of violence, as the area recorded more than 2000 murders during the first nine months of 2025.
Authorities Warn
The police continue their investigation, while local officials have called for concerted efforts to combat organized crime and secure the areas most affected by armed violence.
