استغلت عاملة منزل ثقة صاحب عملها المسن البالغ 75 عاماً، وسرقت 86 ألف دولار سنغافوري (حوالى 66,814 دولار أمريكي) من حسابه البنكي، إلى جانب مجوهرات ذهبية، لتمويل إدمانها على القمار.
خطة محكمة
العاملة، البالغة من العمر 42 عاماً وتُدعى زاو زاو مين، استخدمت بطاقة السحب الآلي الخاصة بصاحب العمل لسحب مبالغ نقدية قدرها 2000 دولار سنغافوري في كل مرة، على مدار 43 عملية بين ديسمبر 2024 ويوليو 2025.
كما سرقت مجوهرات ذهبية بقيمة حوالى 20,368 دولاراً سنغافورياً، قامت برهنها للحصول على مبالغ إضافية.
إخفاء الأدلة
أظهر التحقيق أن صاحب العمل وضع ثقة كبيرة في العاملة، وسلمها البطاقة البنكية والرقم السري لسحب مبالغ المنزل والرحلات.
استغلت زاو زاو مين نومه وأوقات غيابه للخروج خلسة، وحذفت إشعارات البنك على هاتفه لتجنب كشف عمليات السحب، إلا أنها فشلت مرة واحدة، ما دفع صاحب العمل لمواجهتها، لكنها واصلت أفعالها لاحقاً.
القبض والاعتراف
تم إبلاغ الشرطة بالواقعة في 11 يوليو 2025، وعُثر بحوزة العاملة على مبلغ 2000 دولار، واعترفت بأنه من أموال صاحب العمل.
وخلال التحقيقات، أبدت المتهمة ندمها الشديد، وصرحت بأنها تعاني من إدمان القمار، وأن جزءاً من الأموال تم إرسالها لعائلتها.
الحكم القضائي
وُجهت للعاملة تهمتان: خيانة الأمانة الجنائية والسرقة، وأصدرت المحكمة حكماً بسجنها لمدة عام وثمانية أشهر، بحسب صحيفة Shin Min Daily News.
A domestic worker exploited the trust of her elderly employer, who is 75 years old, and stole 86,000 Singapore dollars (approximately 66,814 US dollars) from his bank account, along with gold jewelry, to fund her gambling addiction.
Tight Plan
The 42-year-old worker, named Zhao Zhao Min, used her employer's ATM card to withdraw cash amounts of 2,000 Singapore dollars each time, over 43 transactions between December 2024 and July 2025.
She also stole gold jewelry worth approximately 20,368 Singapore dollars, which she pawned for additional funds.
Concealing Evidence
The investigation revealed that the employer had placed great trust in the worker, giving her the bank card and PIN to withdraw amounts for household expenses and trips.
Zhao Zhao Min took advantage of his sleep and times of absence to sneak out, and deleted bank notifications on his phone to avoid detection of the withdrawals, although she failed once, prompting the employer to confront her, but she continued her actions later.
Arrest and Confession
The police were notified of the incident on July 11, 2025, and the worker was found in possession of 2,000 dollars, admitting that it was from her employer's money.
During the investigations, the accused expressed deep remorse, stating that she suffers from a gambling addiction, and that part of the money was sent to her family.
Judicial Sentence
The worker was charged with two counts: criminal breach of trust and theft, and the court sentenced her to one year and eight months in prison, according to the Shin Min Daily News.
