شنت الجماهير العمانية هجوماً كبيراً على رئيس اتحاد الكرة سليمان البوسعيدي، وعلى المدير الفني طارق السكتيوي بعد الخسارة الثقيلة حسب ما وصفته الصحف والجماهير العمانية التي امتعضت من الخسارة، حيث قالت إن البداية المرتبكة أمام المنتخب السعودي هي من تسببت بتلك الخسارة الكبيرة.

وأضافوا: العمل الاستراتيجي "كلام فاضي" وغير مخطط ولا مدروس "بل ترقيع في ترقيع"، والمحصلة خسارة لم تكن لا على البال ولا الخاطر، من أمام الأخضر السعودي الذي يستحق الفوز بكل جدارة واستحقاق.

وانتهت المواجهة بخسارة منتخبنا بثلاثية نظيفة، خسارة ثقيلة وغير متوقعة قياساً بما قدمه الأحمر في مشاركاته الأخيرة بكأس الخليج، وفتحت النتيجة باب التساؤلات حول القرارات الفنية والتشكيلة التي بدأت المواجهة، خصوصاً أن المنتخب السعودي حسم المباراة عملياً بثلاثة أهداف خلال 32 دقيقة، قبل أن يتغير شكل منتخبنا بصورة كبيرة في الشوط الثاني دون أن يتمكن من تعديل النتيجة.

وطالب أحد الجماهير عبر منصة "إكس" قائلاً: الغوا كرة القدم أفضل حتى يتم التطور ومواكبة التحديث الجديد في عالم الساحرة المستديرة كوننا في نفس الدائرة نسير دون أي تطور ولا تقدم يُذكر، كما أن اللاعبين لا يملكون أي روح ولا قتالية لأجل شعار الوطن بل أداء باهت وبارد.

They added: Al-Saqtiwi is also to blame for his wrong choices in the lineup. How can he exclude Al-Mushifi and enter the tournament with only one right-back and one left-back, not to mention the presence of names that have no connection to football?
