التقى وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، بمدينة نيويورك، الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش، وذلك على هامش أعمال الأسبوع رفيع المستوى للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في دورتها الحادية والثمانين.

وعبّر الوزير خلال اللقاء عن شكره وتقديره للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بمناسبة قرب انتهاء مهامه، مثمناً جهوده التي بذلها خلال فترة توليه منصبه.

كما جرى استعراض مجالات التعاون بين الجانبين، وبحث المستجدات الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

حضر اللقاء، وكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون الدولية المتعددة والمشرف العام على وكالة الوزارة لشؤون الاقتصاد والتنمية الدكتور عبدالرحمن بن إبراهيم الرسي، ومندوب المملكة الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن محمد الواصل، والمستشار المبعوث الخاص لوزير الخارجية للمفاوضات وجهود السلام منال رضوان.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met in New York with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the occasion of the nearing end of his term, commending the efforts he has made during his time in office.

The two sides also reviewed areas of cooperation and discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.

Attending the meeting were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and the General Supervisor of the Ministry's Agency for Economic and Development Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasel, and the Special Envoy Advisor to the Foreign Minister for Negotiations and Peace Efforts, Manal Radwan.
