سارع رئيس الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم بيدرو بروينسا إلى التدخل لاحتواء التوتر المتصاعد داخل معسكر منتخب البرتغال، على خلفية الأزمة بين قائد المنتخب كريستيانو رونالدو ومدربه جورجي جيسوس.

وجاء تحرك بروينسا الطارئ بالسفر إلى مدينة مالمو السويدية، بعد الجدل الذي أثارته إبقاء رونالدو على مقاعد البدلاء أمام النرويج، ثم عدم مشاركته في التدريبات الجماعية.

وكان المنتخب البرتغالي قد تجاوز النرويج 2-1 ضمن دوري الأمم الأوروبية، في مباراة لم يشارك فيها نجم النصر، لتزداد التساؤلات حول وضعه الفني.

وبحسب صحيفة «سبورت» الإسبانية نقلاً عن مصادر برتغالية، فإن اجتماعاً حاسماً سيُعقد في مالمو يجمع بروينسا وجيسوس ورونالدو لوضع حد للأزمة وإعادة الهدوء للمعسكر قبل مواجهة الدنمارك المرتقبة، (الخميس)، على ملعب «باركن» في كوبنهاجن ضمن الجولة الثالثة.

ورغم تأكيد رونالدو في وقت سابق عدم انزعاجه من الجلوس احتياطياً، بقوله: «شرف تمثيل البرتغال أكبر من أي شيء.. سأفعل ما يطلبه المدرب سواء لعبت أساسياً أو بديلاً أو لم ألعب»، إلا أن المشهد في مالمو زاد من حدة التوتر، بعدما حضر إلى ملعب «إيلدا» قبل انطلاق المران بنصف ساعة، ثم غادر إلى الفندق عقب حديث مقتضب مع جيسوس.

وأرجعت رابطة الكرة البرتغالية غياب رونالدو عن المران إلى عدم توفر المعدات الخاصة بتدريباته الفردية في منشآت نادي مالمو، فيما نفى جيسوس وجود أي خلاف، مؤكداً أن العلاقة طبيعية.

غير أن سفر رئيس الاتحاد بشكل مفاجئ وتغييره جدول أعماله، كشف وفقاً للإعلام البرتغالي أن الأزمة أعمق مما يُعلن، وأن هناك محاولات جادة لمنع تفاقمها قبل الاستحقاق الأوروبي القادم.

The President of the Portuguese Football Federation, Pedro Proença, rushed to intervene to contain the rising tension within the Portugal national team camp, following the crisis between team captain Cristiano Ronaldo and his coach Jorge Jesus.

Proença's urgent move to travel to the Swedish city of Malmö came after the controversy surrounding Ronaldo being kept on the bench against Norway, and then not participating in the team training sessions.

The Portuguese national team had defeated Norway 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League, in a match where the Al-Nassr star did not participate, raising further questions about his technical status.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," citing Portuguese sources, a crucial meeting will be held in Malmö bringing together Proença, Jesus, and Ronaldo to put an end to the crisis and restore calm to the camp before the anticipated match against Denmark on Thursday at the "Parken" Stadium in Copenhagen as part of the third round.

Despite Ronaldo's earlier confirmation that he was not bothered by sitting on the bench, stating, "The honor of representing Portugal is greater than anything... I will do what the coach asks, whether I play as a starter, as a substitute, or not at all," the scene in Malmö heightened the tension, as he arrived at the "Eleda" Stadium half an hour before the training started, then left for the hotel after a brief conversation with Jesus.

The Portuguese Football Association attributed Ronaldo's absence from training to the lack of equipment for his individual training at Malmö's facilities, while Jesus denied any disagreement, confirming that the relationship is normal.

However, the sudden travel of the federation president and his change of schedule revealed, according to Portuguese media, that the crisis is deeper than what is being announced, and that there are serious attempts to prevent its escalation before the upcoming European qualification.
