مثل النجم الإنجليزي إيفان توني، مهاجم الأهلي السعودي، أمام محكمة وستمنستر الجزئية، حيث دفع ببراءته من تهمة الاعتداء.

وكان توني (30 عاماً) قد أوقف في ديسمبر 2025 بتهمة الاعتداء على شخص يدعى سابر دا سيلفا داخل ملهى ليلي في شارع واردور وسط لندن، حيث يُزعم أنه نطحه وضربه.

ووجهت شرطة العاصمة لندن للمهاجم السابق لبرينتفورد تهمة الاعتداء المسبب لأذى جسدي فعلي في يوليو الماضي، عقب تحقيق أجرته.

وحضر توني إلى المحكمةعلى خلفية مزاعم حادثة سوهو، برفقة ثلاثة من مرافقيه بعد الساعة التاسعة والنصف صباحاً، وأكد اسمه وعمره أثناء وقوفه في قفص الاتهام، نافياً اعتداءه على دا سيلفا، وفق التقرير الذي بثه موقع «talksport».

وكان المتحدث باسمه قد صرح سابقاً: «إيفان يقر بالتهمة ورغم أنه مصدوم بطبيعة الحال، فإنه يتطلع إلى الحصول على فرصة لتبرئة اسمه في المحكمة».

واستمعت المحكمة إلى المدعي توم هيسلوب الذي أوضح كيف «تواجه» الشخصان داخل المكان.

وخيّرت القاضية بريوني كلارك توني بين محاكمته في محكمة الصلح، إلا أن اللاعب اختار بدلاً من ذلك محاكمته أمام محكمة التاج بحضور قاضٍ وهيئة محلفين.

وأُفرج عن المهاجم السابق لنيوكاسل بكفالة غير مشروطة، على أن تُعقد جلسة الاستماع التالية في محكمة ساوثوورك للتاج (الخميس) 29 أكتوبر.

English star Ivan Toney, the striker for Al Ahli Saudi, appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault.

Toney (30 years old) was arrested in December 2025 for allegedly assaulting a person named Saber Da Silva inside a nightclub on Wardour Street in central London, where he is accused of headbutting and hitting him.

The London Metropolitan Police charged the former Brentford striker with actual bodily harm in July, following an investigation they conducted.

Toney attended court regarding the allegations from the Soho incident, accompanied by three of his companions after 9:30 AM, and confirmed his name and age while standing in the dock, denying that he assaulted Da Silva, according to a report broadcast by the website "talksport."

A spokesperson for him had previously stated: "Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is understandably shocked, he looks forward to having the opportunity to clear his name in court."

The court heard from the complainant Tom Hislop, who explained how the two individuals "confronted" each other inside the venue.

Judge Briony Clark offered Toney the option of being tried in the magistrates' court, but the player chose instead to be tried in the Crown Court with a judge and jury present.

The former Newcastle striker was released on unconditional bail, with the next hearing scheduled at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday, October 29.
