أعلن الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية والتشريعية بالتزامن في 11 سبتمبر 2027، ملغياً الموعد السابق للانتخابات التشريعية الذي كان مقرراً في 28 نوفمبر القادم.

وقالت وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية «وفا»، (السبت)، إن المرسوم الذي صدر بناء على قرار اللجنة التنفيذية لمنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، يدعو الفلسطينيين في القدس والضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة إلى انتخاب رئيس دولة فلسطين وأعضاء المجلس التشريعي بصورة متزامنة.

وكان عباس أصدر في يوليو الماضي مرسوماً حدد 28 نوفمبر 2026 موعداً للانتخابات التشريعية، مع الإعلان آنذاك عن إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية خلال 2027. ويأتي تحديد الموعد الجديد في ظل تحديات سياسية وأمنية تواجه الساحة الفلسطينية، في وقت تبرز فيه مسألة تجديد الشرعيات السياسية وتعزيز التمثيل الفلسطيني ضمن الملفات المهمة المطروحة على الساحة الداخلية.

ومن شأن إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية والتشريعية في يوم واحد أن يضع المؤسستين الرئاسية والتشريعية أمام استحقاق انتخابي متزامن، يتيح للناخبين اختيار الرئيس وأعضاء المجلس التشريعي في إطار عملية انتخابية واحدة، وفقاً لما نص عليه المرسوم. إلا أن إجراء الانتخابات في موعدها المعلن يرتبط بالترتيبات التنظيمية والقانونية اللازمة، فضلاً عن التحديات المتعلقة بإمكانية مشاركة الناخبين في مختلف الأراضي الفلسطينية، خصوصاً في قطاع غزة والقدس الشرقية، في ظل الظروف السياسية والميدانية القائمة.

ويعيد القرار الجديد ملف الانتخابات الفلسطينية إلى واجهة المشهد السياسي، وسط ترقب بشأن الإجراءات التي ستسبق موعد الاقتراع، وآليات تنظيم العملية الانتخابية وضمان مشاركة الفلسطينيين في المناطق المختلفة. ومن المتوقع أن تتركز الأنظار خلال المرحلة القادمة على الخطوات التحضيرية المرتبطة بالاستحقاقين، ومدى توافر الظروف اللازمة لإجرائهما في الموعد المحدد، بما يتيح للفلسطينيين اختيار قيادتهم السياسية وممثليهم في المجلس التشريعي.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced the holding of presidential and legislative elections simultaneously on September 11, 2027, canceling the previous date for the legislative elections which was scheduled for November 28 of this year.

The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported on Saturday that the decree issued based on a decision by the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization calls on Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip to elect the President of the State of Palestine and members of the Legislative Council simultaneously.

Abbas had issued a decree last July setting November 28, 2026, as the date for the legislative elections, while announcing at that time that the presidential elections would take place in 2027. The new date comes amid political and security challenges facing the Palestinian arena, at a time when the issue of renewing political legitimacy and enhancing Palestinian representation is among the important topics on the internal agenda.

Holding the presidential and legislative elections on the same day would place both the presidential and legislative institutions before a simultaneous electoral obligation, allowing voters to choose the president and members of the Legislative Council within a single electoral process, according to what the decree stipulates. However, conducting the elections on the announced date is linked to the necessary organizational and legal arrangements, in addition to the challenges related to the possibility of voter participation in various Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, given the existing political and field conditions.

The new decision brings the issue of Palestinian elections back to the forefront of the political scene, amid anticipation regarding the procedures that will precede the polling date, the mechanisms for organizing the electoral process, and ensuring the participation of Palestinians in different areas. It is expected that attention will focus in the coming phase on the preparatory steps related to the two electoral obligations, and the extent to which the necessary conditions are available to conduct them on the specified date, allowing Palestinians to choose their political leadership and representatives in the Legislative Council.
