ضربت سيول جارفة وانهيارات أرضية منطقة سولوق في مقاطعة سومطرة الغربية بإندونيسيا، مساء أمس (الإثنين)، مخلفة أضراراً في عشرات المنازل والمباني الحكومية، ومتسببة في قطع عدد من الطرق.
ووقعت السيول عقب هطول أمطار غزيرة على المنطقة، إذ اندفعت كميات كبيرة من المياه محملة بالطين والصخور إلى منطقة أروسوكا ومحيط المجمع الحكومي في سولوق.
4 مصابين وتضرر عشرات المنازل
وأفادت بيانات السلطات المحلية بإصابة أربعة أشخاص، فيما لم يتم تسجيل وفيات حتى آخر تحديث، في وقت تتواصل فيه عمليات حصر الأضرار والبحث في المناطق المتضررة.
وأظهرت البيانات الأولية تضرر نحو 70 منزلاً و11 مبنى حكومياً، فيما طالت السيول عدداً من المرافق العامة.
الصخور والطين تقطع الطرق
وتسببت السيول في تراكم كميات كبيرة من الصخور والطين على طريق سولوق–بادانغ، ما أدى إلى توقف حركة المركبات عليه مؤقتاً.
كما دفعت السلطات فرق البحث والإنقاذ إلى المنطقة فور تلقي البلاغات، للقيام بعمليات الإجلاء والتعامل مع تداعيات السيول.
فرق الإنقاذ تتجه إلى المنطقة
وقال رئيس مكتب البحث والإنقاذ في بادانغ عبد الملك إن فرق الإنقاذ أُرسلت إلى سولوق منذ مساء (الإثنين) للقيام بعمليات الاستجابة الأولية والإجلاء عند الحاجة.
وأظهرت صور من المنطقة صخوراً كبيرة جرفتها السيول وقد تراكمت على الطرق وألحقت أضراراً بمنازل السكان في أروسوكا.
Flash floods and landslides struck the Solok area in West Sumatra, Indonesia, last night (Monday), causing damage to dozens of homes and government buildings, and leading to the closure of several roads.
The floods occurred after heavy rainfall in the area, as large amounts of water carrying mud and rocks surged into the Arosuka area and around the government complex in Solok.
4 Injured and Dozens of Homes Damaged
Local authorities reported that four people were injured, while no fatalities had been recorded as of the latest update, as efforts to assess the damage and search the affected areas continued.
Preliminary data indicated that approximately 70 homes and 11 government buildings were damaged, while the floods also affected several public facilities.
Rocks and Mud Block Roads
The floods caused large amounts of rocks and mud to accumulate on the Solok–Padang road, temporarily halting vehicle movement.
The authorities dispatched search and rescue teams to the area immediately upon receiving reports, to carry out evacuation operations and address the aftermath of the floods.
Rescue Teams Head to the Area
Abdul Malik, head of the search and rescue office in Padang, stated that rescue teams were sent to Solok since last night (Monday) to conduct initial response operations and evacuations as needed.
Images from the area showed large rocks swept away by the floods, which had accumulated on the roads and caused damage to residents' homes in Arosuka.
