كشفت الفنانة المصرية إلهام شاهين عن أسباب الهجوم الذي تعرضت له بسبب فيلم (لحم رخيص)، مؤكدة أن العمل تناول قضية واقعية واستند إلى أحداث حقيقية، إلا أنه واجه انتقادات واسعة منذ عرضه.

وخلال مشاركتها في ندوة (البطولة النسائية في ميزان شباك التذاكر) ضمن فعاليات الدورة التاسعة من مهرجان الجونة السينمائي، قالت إن بعض الانتقادات التي طالتها جاءت بسبب طرح الفيلم لقضايا اجتماعية حساسة، مشيرة إلى أن الهجوم لم يكن موجهاً للعمل فقط بل امتد إليها شخصياً. وأكدت أن (لحم رخيص) يُعد من أكثر الأعمال احتشامًا في مسيرتها الفنية، رغم ارتباط اسمه بحالة الجدل التي رافقته، موضحة أن الفيلم استند إلى واقعة حقيقية وسعى إلى تسليط الضوء على قضية موجودة في المجتمع.

وفي السياق ذاته، ناقشت الندوة واقع البطولة النسائية والتحديات التي تواجه المرأة في صناعة السينما، حيث شددت شاهين على أهمية منح مساحة أوسع للأعمال التي تتناول قضايا المرأة وتطرح رؤى مختلفة.

من جانبها، أشادت الفنانة يسرا بتجربة إلهام شاهين الفنية والإنتاجية، كاشفة أنها رهنت منزلها في إحدى المراحل لاستكمال إنتاج أحد أعمالها السينمائية، معتبرة ذلك نموذجاً للإصرار والدفاع عن المشروعات الفنية التي تؤمن بها.

وأكدت المشاركتان أهمية الحفاظ على حرية الإبداع ودعم الأعمال التي تطرح قضايا متنوعة، بما يسهم في إثراء المشهد السينمائي وتقديم تجارب أكثر جرأة وتنوعاً للجمهور.

The Egyptian artist Elham Shahin revealed the reasons behind the attack she faced due to the film (Cheap Meat), confirming that the work addressed a real issue and was based on true events, yet it faced widespread criticism since its release.

During her participation in the seminar (Women’s Roles in the Box Office Balance) as part of the ninth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival, she stated that some of the criticisms directed at her were due to the film's presentation of sensitive social issues, noting that the attack was not only aimed at the work but also extended to her personally. She affirmed that (Cheap Meat) is one of the most modest works in her artistic career, despite its association with the controversy that accompanied it, explaining that the film was based on a true incident and aimed to shed light on an existing issue in society.

In the same context, the seminar discussed the reality of women's roles and the challenges women face in the film industry, where Shahin emphasized the importance of providing a wider space for works that address women's issues and present different perspectives.

For her part, the artist Yousra praised Elham Shahin's artistic and production experience, revealing that she had mortgaged her home at one point to complete the production of one of her cinematic works, considering that a model of determination and defense of the artistic projects she believes in.

The two participants emphasized the importance of preserving creative freedom and supporting works that present diverse issues, contributing to enriching the cinematic scene and offering bolder and more varied experiences to the audience.
