كشفت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عن مساعٍ حوثية لشراء طائرات تجارية وتسيير رحلات لتهريب الأسلحة والممنوعات عبر مطار صنعاء.

وذكرت بيانات مكتب مراقبة الأصول الأجنبية التابع لوزارة الخزانة الأمريكية في تقريرها إدراج 21 فرداً وكياناً، وسفينة واحدة، في قائمة العقوبات لتورطهم في نقل منتجات نفطية، وشراء أسلحة ومعدات ذات استخدام مزدوج، وتقديم خدمات مالية لجماعة الحوثي، موضحة أن من بين المعاقبين عملاء حوثيين في مجال المشتريات والتمويل حاولوا استغلال شبكاتهم الدولية لشراء طائرات لاستخدامها في عمليات التهريب وخلق موارد مالية إضافية للحوثي.

السنيدار تاجر الحوثي

وذكر البيان أن رجل الأعمال اليمني محمد السنيدار، الموالي للحوثي والمصنف من قبل الولايات المتحدة في قائمة العقوبات، لتأسيس شركتي طيران جديدتين في صنعاء، هما «شركة براش للطيران والشحن المحدودة» و«شركة سما للطيران»، قام عبر شركة «براش»، المتخصصة في نقل البضائع جواً، بمساعدة الحوثيين في مساعيهم لشراء طائرة تجارية، كان قادة الحوثيين يخططون لاستخدامها في نقل البضائع غير المشروعة عبر مطار صنعاء الدولي الخاضع لسيطرتهم.

وأشار البيان إلى أن «براش» للطيران ساعدت الحوثي في تحديد وتقييم الطائرات المحتملة للشراء، في حين أسس قادة بالجماعة إلى جوار هذه الشركة «شركة سما للطيران» للعمل على نقل الركاب من مطار صنعاء الدولي.

وبحسب البيان فإن الشركتين حاولتا، أوائل 2025، الدخول في شراكة مع تاجر الأسلحة الروسي المدرج في قائمة العقوبات الأمريكية فيكتور أناتولييفيتش بوت لشراء طائرات تجارية مناسبة لكلا الشركتين، موضحاً أن رجل الأعمال والقيادي الحوثي عادل مطهر عبدالله المؤيد، لعب إلى جانب السنيدار دوراً محورياً في العمليات التجارية لشركتي «براش» و«سما»، وفي جهود شراء الطائرات.

من هو المؤيد؟

وأفاد البيان أن المؤيد يعمل مسؤولاً عن المشتريات بوزارة الدفاع الحوثية ويعمل على تسهيل شراء المعدات العسكرية والتجارية ذات الاستخدام المزدوج لصالح الحوثيين، كاشفاً عن علاقات شخصية وثيقة تربط المؤيد مع قيادات حوثية بارزة المستوى، من بينهم محمد علي الحوثي، وهو مسؤول عن التواصل الاقتصادي مع الشركاء الأجانب المحتملين نيابةً عن الحوثيين.

ولم يكشف بيان مكتب مراقبة الأصول الأجنبية عن نتائج هذه المحاولات، إلا أن استمرار توقف نشاط مطار صنعاء الخاضع للحوثي يُشير إلى فشل هذه المحاولات.

من جهته، قال نائب المتحدث باسم الخارجية، تومي بيغوت إن هذا الإجراء يركز على الشركات الوهمية والوسطاء في اليمن والإمارات العربية المتحدة الذين يمولون أنشطة الحوثيين المزعزعة للاستقرار وهجماتهم في البحر الأحمر.

ولفت إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تستخدم جميع الأدوات المتاحة لها للقضاء على التهديدات التي يشكلها الحوثي، من خلال استهداف الشركات الوهمية والوسطاء الذين يدعمون الحوثيين.

وتوعد بيغوت بحرمان الحوثيين من الموارد التي يحتاجونها لتنفيذ أعمالهم المتهورة والمزعزعة للاستقرار.

The United States has revealed Houthi efforts to purchase commercial aircraft and operate flights to smuggle weapons and contraband through Sana'a Airport.

According to data from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, its report included the listing of 21 individuals and entities, along with one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and dual-use equipment, and providing financial services to the Houthi group. It clarified that among those sanctioned were Houthi agents in the procurement and financing sectors who attempted to exploit their international networks to buy aircraft for use in smuggling operations and to create additional financial resources for the Houthis.

Al-Sunaidar, the Houthi Merchant

The statement mentioned that Yemeni businessman Mohammed Al-Sunaidar, who is loyal to the Houthis and classified by the United States on the sanctions list, established two new airlines in Sana'a, namely "Brash Air and Cargo Limited" and "Sama Airlines." Through "Brash," which specializes in air cargo transport, he assisted the Houthis in their efforts to purchase a commercial aircraft that Houthi leaders planned to use for transporting illegal goods through Sana'a International Airport, which is under their control.

The statement indicated that "Brash" Airlines helped the Houthis identify and evaluate potential aircraft for purchase, while leaders of the group established "Sama Airlines" alongside this company to work on transporting passengers from Sana'a International Airport.

According to the statement, the two companies attempted, in early 2025, to enter into a partnership with the Russian arms dealer Viktor Anatolyevich Bout, who is listed on the U.S. sanctions list, to purchase commercial aircraft suitable for both companies. It clarified that businessman and Houthi leader Adel Muthar Abdullah Al-Muayyad played a pivotal role alongside Al-Sunaidar in the commercial operations of "Brash" and "Sama," as well as in efforts to purchase the aircraft.

Who is Al-Muayyad?

The statement reported that Al-Muayyad serves as the procurement officer at the Houthi Ministry of Defense and facilitates the purchase of military and dual-use commercial equipment for the benefit of the Houthis, revealing close personal relationships linking Al-Muayyad with prominent Houthi leaders, including Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, who is responsible for economic communication with potential foreign partners on behalf of the Houthis.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control did not disclose the outcomes of these attempts, but the continued inactivity at the Houthi-controlled Sana'a Airport indicates the failure of these efforts.

For his part, Deputy Spokesperson for the State Department, Tom Bigham, stated that this action focuses on shell companies and intermediaries in Yemen and the United Arab Emirates that fund the destabilizing activities of the Houthis and their attacks in the Red Sea.

He noted that the United States is using all available tools to eliminate the threats posed by the Houthis by targeting the shell companies and intermediaries that support them.

Bigham vowed to deprive the Houthis of the resources they need to carry out their reckless and destabilizing actions.
