جدد رئيس وزراء باكستان محمد شهباز شريف، إدانة باكستان للهجمات التي استهدفت المملكة العربية السعودية، مؤكدًا أن أمن الحرمين الشريفين يمثل «خطًا أحمر» بالنسبة لباكستان.

وأكد في كلمته أمام الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في نيويورك اليوم، أن اتفاقية مكة للدفاع المشترك بين المملكة العربية السعودية وتركيا وباكستان لا تستهدف أي دولة، بل تهدف إلى تعزيز السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة.

وأوضح أن اتساع نطاق الصراعات في الشرق الأوسط ألحق أضرارًا بطرق الملاحة البحرية الحيوية وأثر على الاقتصاد العالمي، مؤكدًا ضرورة بقاء مضيقي هرمز وباب المندب مفتوحين أمام حركة التجارة الدولية.

وأشار إلى أن باكستان أسهمت في دعم الجهود الدبلوماسية الرامية إلى احتواء التوترات الإقليمية، بما في ذلك تشجيع الحوار بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، وأنها اختارت العمل من أجل تحقيق السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة.

وفيما يتعلق بالقضية الفلسطينية، أكد رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني دعم بلاده إقامة دولة فلسطينية مستقلة على حدود عام 1967، مشيرًا إلى أن التهجير القسري للفلسطينيين يعكس بحسب موقف باكستان، أجندة إسرائيلية تهدف إلى ارتكاب إبادة جماعية، مجددًا إدانة العمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية في الأراضي الفلسطينية ولبنان وسوريا.

وفي الشأن الإقليمي، جدد رئيس وزراء باكستان موقف بلاده بشأن قضية جامو وكشمير، داعيًا إلى حلها وفقًا لقرارات الأمم المتحدة.

ومن جهة أخرى، أشار إلى أن الإرهاب ما زال يشكل تهديدًا خطيرًا للأمن والسلم الدوليين، داعيًا إلى تعزيز دور الأمم المتحدة وإصلاح مجلس الأمن مما يجعله أكثر تمثيلًا وفاعلية.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan's condemnation of the attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the security of the holy sites is a "red line" for Pakistan.

In his speech at the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today, he stated that the Mecca Agreement for mutual defense between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan does not target any country, but aims to enhance peace and stability in the region.

He explained that the widening scope of conflicts in the Middle East has harmed vital maritime navigation routes and affected the global economy, stressing the necessity of keeping the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb open for international trade.

He noted that Pakistan has contributed to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at containing regional tensions, including encouraging dialogue between the United States and Iran, and that it has chosen to work towards achieving peace and stability in the region.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Pakistani Prime Minister affirmed his country's support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, pointing out that the forced displacement of Palestinians reflects, according to Pakistan's position, an Israeli agenda aimed at committing genocide, reiterating condemnation of Israeli military operations in Palestinian territories, Lebanon, and Syria.

On the regional front, the Prime Minister of Pakistan renewed his country's stance on the Jammu and Kashmir issue, calling for its resolution in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

On another note, he pointed out that terrorism still poses a serious threat to international peace and security, calling for the strengthening of the United Nations' role and reforming the Security Council to make it more representative and effective.
