The spread of bed bugs in several trains of the British railway company "Southeastern" has led to the cancellation of trips, amid efforts to combat the insects, according to the "Daily Telegraph."

The first reports of bed bugs in the trains located at the "West Marina" depot near Hastings emerged on September 22.

The newspaper noted that one train driver requested a full-body protective suit, but it was not available, leading to the cancellation of the trip.

Some passengers dubbed one of the trains the "Bed Bug Express," as it continued to transport passengers despite the discovery of the insects, with operating officials, who were unaware of the problem, allowing the train to go into service. However, no bed bugs were found in the passenger cars, according to the newspaper.

Pest control specialists are currently working to address the issue, while the "Daily Telegraph" explained that eliminating bed bugs is a costly process that requires significant human effort.
