وصف ثلاثة مسؤولين أمريكيين اجتماع كبار مسؤولي الأمن القومي في إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب لساعات في كامب ديفيد، بـ«غير الاعتيادي».

تعثر المفاوضات مع إيران

وكشف موقع «أكسيوس» إن إدارة ترمب لم تعلن عن الاجتماع، الذي بحث الخطوات القادمة في حرب إيران والأوضاع في اليمن، في وقت تحشد الولايات المتحدة قواتها في الشرق الأوسط وسط تعثر المفاوضات مع طهران.

وقال أحد المسؤولين، في إشارة إلى الوضع في الشرق الأوسط: «اتُخذت قرارات، أو نوقشت الأمور بعمق على الأقل».

وعقد آخر اجتماع مماثل في كامب ديفيد كان في يونيو 2025، قبل أيام فقط من بدء إسرائيل حرب الـ12 يوماً مع إيران.

وترأس نائب الرئيس جي دي فانس الاجتماع، وفقاً للمسؤولين، بمشاركة وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو، وزير الحرب بيت هيجسيث، والمبعوث الخاص ستيف ويتكوف، ومدير وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية «CIA» جون راتكليف، ورئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الجنرال دان كين.

ترمب يدرس استئناف القتال

وعقد الاجتماع في وقت وصلت فيه المفاوضات إلى طريق مسدود، بينما يدرس ترمب استئناف عمليات قتالية واسعة النطاق في إيران.

وقال ترمب خلال تجمع انتخابي في ألاباما، مساء أمس الجمعة، إن حرب إيران ستنتهي قريباً، سواء من خلال التوصل إلى اتفاق أو عبر عمل عسكري. وأضاف: «ستنتهي قريباً جداً، على الأرجح مباشرة بعد الانتخابات، لكن بمجرد انتهائها، ستنهار أسعار النفط».

وفي وقت كان مستشاروه يجتمعون في كامب ديفيد، سُئل ترمب، عن خطوته القادمة بشأن إيران. ورد قائلاً: «لو أخبرتكم، فستكون لديكم قصة كبيرة. لكنكم سترون. الأمور تسير بشكل جيد للغاية. إيران لا تبلي بلاءً حسناً».
واعتبر أن القدرات العسكرية الإيرانية وقيادتها دُمّرت بالكامل، مشيراً إلى أن امتلاك إيران سلاحاً نووياً «أمر مرفوض وغير قابل للنقاش»، فيما قال إنه «لا يعرف مع من يجب أن يتعامل في إيران».

حشد عسكري أمريكي

ومع تعثر المفاوضات، أرسل الجيش الأمريكي قرابة 10 آلاف جندي على متن مجموعة من السفن إلى الشرق الأوسط.ومن شأن هذه التعزيزات أن ترفع الوجود البحري الأمريكي في المنطقة إلى مستوى مرتفع على نحو غير معتاد، بأكثر من 20 ألف بحار وعنصر من مشاة البحرية ومئات الطائرات.

وغادرت حاملة الطائرات «ثيودور روزفلت» ميناء في سان دييجو، الأحد، فيما غادرت مجموعة الاستعداد البرمائي «ماكين آيلاند»، التي تضم ثلاث سفن برمائية تحمل عناصر من الوحدة الاستكشافية الـ13 لمشاة البحرية، الاثنين، وفق صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال».
وتوجد حالياً في المنطقة حاملتا الطائرات «جورج دبليو بوش» و«جورج واشنطن»، إلى جانب مجموعة الاستعداد البرمائي «يو إس إس بوكسر».

خيار الضغط الاقتصادي

ولا يزال خيار العقوبات الاقتصادية مستمراً، إذ وسّعت الولايات المتحدة، ضغوطها على إيران بعقوبات استهدفت شركات في قطاعات السيارات والسكك الحديدية والمعدات الثقيلة والمعادن، إضافة إلى موردين وشبكات مالية خارج البلاد، ضمن عملية «النبذ الاقتصادي» الهادفة إلى تقليص إيرادات طهران والحد من التفافها على العقوبات.

وأعلنت وزارة الخزانة الإجراءات في وقت تمضي فيه إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب في توسيع نطاق العقوبات من قطاعات النفط والمال والطيران إلى أنشطة صناعية وتجارية أخرى.

Three American officials described a meeting of senior national security officials in President Donald Trump's administration that lasted for hours at Camp David as "unusual."

Negotiations with Iran Stalled

The Axios website revealed that the Trump administration did not announce the meeting, which discussed the next steps in the Iran war and the situation in Yemen, at a time when the United States is mobilizing its forces in the Middle East amid stalled negotiations with Tehran.

One official stated, referring to the situation in the Middle East: "Decisions were made, or at least matters were discussed in depth."

The last similar meeting at Camp David took place in June 2025, just days before Israel began its 12-day war with Iran.

The meeting was chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance, according to the officials, with the participation of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Keen.

Trump Considers Resuming Combat

The meeting occurred at a time when negotiations had reached an impasse, while Trump is considering resuming large-scale combat operations in Iran.

During a campaign rally in Alabama last night, Trump stated that the Iran war would end soon, either through an agreement or military action. He added: "It will end very soon, probably right after the elections, but once it ends, oil prices will collapse."

While his advisors were meeting at Camp David, Trump was asked about his next step regarding Iran. He responded: "If I told you, you would have a big story. But you will see. Things are going very well. Iran is not doing well at all." He considered that Iran's military capabilities and leadership have been completely destroyed, noting that Iran possessing a nuclear weapon is "unacceptable and non-negotiable," while he said he "doesn't know who to deal with in Iran."

American Military Buildup

With negotiations stalled, the U.S. military has sent nearly 10,000 troops aboard a fleet of ships to the Middle East. These reinforcements will elevate the American naval presence in the region to an unusually high level, with more than 20,000 sailors and Marines and hundreds of aircraft.

The aircraft carrier "Theodore Roosevelt" departed from a port in San Diego on Sunday, while the amphibious ready group "Makinen Island," which includes three amphibious ships carrying elements of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, left on Monday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Currently, the aircraft carriers "George W. Bush" and "George Washington" are in the region, along with the amphibious ready group "USS Boxer."

Economic Pressure Option

The option of economic sanctions remains in place, as the United States has intensified its pressure on Iran with sanctions targeting companies in the automotive, railway, heavy equipment, and metals sectors, in addition to suppliers and financial networks abroad, as part of the "economic ostracism" aimed at reducing Tehran's revenues and limiting its circumvention of sanctions.

The Treasury Department announced the measures at a time when President Donald Trump's administration is expanding the scope of sanctions from the oil, finance, and aviation sectors to other industrial and commercial activities.
