في واحدة من أغرب الظواهر البيولوجية وأكثرها ندرة على مستوى العالم، عاشت طفلة مصرية لم يتجاوز عمرها عاماً ونصف العام مع «توأم طفيلي» غريب استقر بطريقة مرعبة داخل معدتها منذ ولادتها، قبل أن يتحرك الأطباء في سباق مع الزمن لإنقاذ حياتها.

تكشفت تفاصيل الحادثة حين استقبل معهد الكبد القومي بمدينة المنوفية طفلة صغيرة وهي تواجه حالة هبوط في ضغط الدم ونزيف حاد ومقلق في الجهاز الهضمي دون سبب ظاهر. وحينها أحدثت الفحوصات الدقيقة والمناظير الطبية صدمة لدى الفريق الطبي، بعدما عثروا على كتلة غامضة وغير معتادة تستقر في تجويف معدة الطفلة.

ولم تكن تلك الكتلة سوى تجسيد لمتلازمة «جنين داخل جنين»، وهو خلل جيني وخلقي لا يتكرر سوى مرة واحدة لكل 500 ألف ولادة حول العالم. وتحدث هذه الظاهرة عندما يفشل أحد التوائم في النمو الكامل خلال الأسابيع الأولى من الحمل، ليتم ابتلاعه أو اندماجه داخل جسم توأمه الحامل، متغذياً على دورته الدموية.

ورغم أن معظم الحالات المشابهة عادة ما تُكتشف في التجويف البطني، إلا أن استقرار الجنين الضامر داخل «المعدة» تحديداً مثّل استثناءً طبياً شديد الخطورة هدد حياة الرضيعة.

وعلى الفور، تداعت الفرق الطبية بالتنسيق مع وزارة التعليم العالي لصياغة خطة علاجية طارئة، خضعت على إثرها الطفلة لجراحة استكشافية معقدة نجحت في استئصال التكوين الجنيني بالكامل من معدتها. وقد انتهت الكارثة الطبية بسلام، مع تأكيد استقرار الحالة الصحية للطفلة ومغادرتها مرحلة الخطر تماماً.

This mass was nothing but a manifestation of the "fetus in fetu" syndrome, a genetic and congenital disorder that occurs only once in every 500,000 births worldwide. This phenomenon occurs when one of the twins fails to fully develop during the first weeks of pregnancy, leading to it being swallowed or fused into the body of its host twin, feeding off its bloodstream.

Although most similar cases are usually discovered in the abdominal cavity, the presence of the atrophied fetus specifically inside the "stomach" represented a severe medical exception that threatened the infant's life.

Immediately, medical teams coordinated with the Ministry of Higher Education to formulate an emergency treatment plan, after which the girl underwent a complex exploratory surgery that successfully removed the entire embryonic formation from her stomach. The medical disaster ended safely, with confirmation of the girl's stable health condition and her complete exit from the danger phase.
