أثارت الفائزة بجائزة نوبل للسلام لعام 2026، القاضية الجنوب أفريقية نافي بيلاي، موجة واسعة من التفاعل بعد تعليق ساخر وجّهته نحو الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، في لحظة احتفالية تحوّلت إلى مادة للجدل والفكاهة على منصات التواصل.

وجاءت المزحة خلال احتفال زملائها بفوزها بالجائزة، إذ قالت بيلاي وسط التصفيق: «إذا صفقتم أكثر قليلًا، يمكن أن أشارك الجائزة مع ترمب»، في عبارة خطفت الأضواء سريعًا وانتشرت على نطاق واسع، خصوصًا أن الرئيس الأمريكي كان يأمل في نيل الجائزة هذا العام، ويؤكد باستمرار أنه يستحقها لدوره -بحسب تعبيره- في إنهاء نزاعات دولية.

وتزامن التعليق مع استياء عبّر عنه ترمب عقب إعلان النتيجة، إذ وصف قرار لجنة نوبل بأنه «عار» و«وصمة» على النرويج، رغم أن الجائزة تُمنح من لجنة مستقلة لا تتبع الحكومة النرويجية مباشرة. كما قلّل من شهرة بيلاي، قائلاً إنها «شخصية لم يسمع بها من قبل»، في موقف عكس حجم اعتراضه على عدم اختياره.

وتبلغ بيلاي 85 عامًا، وهي قاضية بارزة من أصول هندية، شغلت منصب المفوضة السامية لحقوق الإنسان، وترأست المحكمة الجنائية الدولية لرواندا، وارتبط اسمها بالدفاع عن العدالة الدولية ومحاسبة مرتكبي الجرائم الكبرى، وهو ما دفع لجنة نوبل إلى منحها الجائزة تقديرًا لإسهاماتها في سيادة القانون في مرحلة تتصاعد فيها الخلافات حول دور المؤسسات القضائية الدولية.

The comment coincided with the discontent expressed by Trump following the announcement of the results, as he described the Nobel Committee's decision as a "shame" and a "stigma" on Norway, despite the fact that the prize is awarded by an independent committee not directly affiliated with the Norwegian government. He also downplayed Pillay's fame, stating that she is "a person no one has heard of before," in a stance that reflected the extent of his objection to not being chosen.

Pillay is 85 years old and is a prominent judge of Indian descent, having served as the High Commissioner for Human Rights and chaired the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Her name is associated with the defense of international justice and holding perpetrators of major crimes accountable, which led the Nobel Committee to award her the prize in recognition of her contributions to the rule of law at a time when disputes over the role of international judicial institutions are escalating.
