تحولت واقعة سرقة منزل في سان دييغو بكاليفورنيا خالٍ من أصحابه سوى الكلب، إلى مشهدٍ طريفٍ، حيث استقبل الحيوان الأليف، اللص، باللعب معه بدلًا من النباح، بينما كانا الزوجان يتابعان اللحظات عبر كاميرات المراقبة، على متن رحلة جوية عائدة إلى مدينتهما بعد زيارة لشيكاغو.

شاهد دانتي رولي وزوجته، لحظة اقتحام شخصٍ ما منزلهما، عبر تطبيق لكاميرا المراقبة المنزلية، كان يتسلّق السياج ويستخدم السلم الموجود خلف السقيفة للصعود إلى الطابق الثاني، حيث كانت إحدى النوافذ مواربة بينما كان كلبهما (ناش) -من فصيلة جولدن ريتريفر ويبلغ من العمر 4 سنوات- يستقبل المقتحم بلعبة.

وبحسب ما صرح به رولي، أنه وزوجته نظرا إلى التطبيق أثناء إقلاع الطائرة ورأيا السلم، الذي كان موجودًا في الفناء الخلفي، ممتدًا نحو الطابق الثاني، وبمجرد دخول المشتبه به تصرّف وكأنه في منزله تمامًا، حتى أنه استلقى على سرير الكلب؛ وفقًا لموقع (fox5 sandiego).

وأشار رولي إلى أن اللص خلع قميصه وحذاءه، وفتش في الثلاجة وتناول إحدى علب الزبادي وهو يقول شيئاً مثل «أوه، هذا لذيذ، ربما يوجد المزيد»، ثم عاد وأخذ علبة أخرى وتناولها، وأكل بعض الديك الرومي والجبن، وبعد ذلك مباشرة أخذ قيلولة.

ظل (ناش) يُحضر ألعابًا مختلفة للمشتبه به ليرى ما إذا كان سيلعب معه، لكن المشتبه به لم يفعل ذلك أبدًا، والطريف أن الحيوان الأليف استقبل أيضًا ضباط الشرطة بلعبة.

وذكر رولي أن شرطة سان دييغو وصلت في حوالي خمس دقائق، وألقت القبض على جون كلاين (57 عامًا) للاشتباه في ارتكابه جريمة سطو من الدرجة الأولى، لافتًا إلى أنه يخطط لتعزيز إجراءات الأمن في منزله، بما في ذلك تركيب سياج أكثر ارتفاعًا، وتزويد المنزل بنظام إنذار.

Dante Rolly and his wife witnessed the moment someone broke into their home through an app for their home surveillance camera, as the intruder climbed the fence and used a ladder behind the shed to reach the second floor, where one of the windows was ajar while their dog (Nash) - a 4-year-old Golden Retriever - greeted the intruder with a toy.

According to Rolly, he and his wife looked at the app while the plane was taking off and saw the ladder, which was in the backyard, extending toward the second floor. As soon as the suspect entered, he acted as if he were right at home, even lying down on the dog’s bed; according to the site (fox5 sandiego).

Rolly noted that the thief took off his shirt and shoes, rummaged through the refrigerator, and ate one of the yogurt cups while saying something like, "Oh, this is delicious, maybe there's more," then went back and took another cup and ate it, along with some turkey and cheese, and right after that, he took a nap.

Nash kept bringing different toys to the suspect to see if he would play with him, but the suspect never did, and amusingly, the pet also greeted the police officers with a toy.

Rolly texted the San Diego police while he was 30,000 feet in the air, granting them access to the Ring camera app so they could also monitor the suspect inside the house. When they arrived, the camera footage showed them sending a drone inside the house, then several officers entered with their weapons drawn.

Rolly mentioned that the San Diego police arrived in about five minutes and arrested John Klein (57) on suspicion of committing first-degree burglary, noting that he plans to enhance security measures at his home, including installing a taller fence and equipping the house with an alarm system.
