أعادت قيادة قوة 808 للدعم والإسناد التابعة للتحالف العربي في أرخبيل سقطرى اليوم (الخميس)، فتح طريق عرهر الرابط بين منطقة أرسل والعاصمة حديبوه، بعد انقطاعه لأكثر من أربعة أشهر جراء تراكم الرمال وزحفها على الطريق بفعل الرياح الموسمية التي تشهدها الجزيرة.

وشملت الجهود تسخير المعدات التابعة لقوة 808 لإزاحة الكثبان والتجمعات الرملية المتراكمة على الطريق، والعمل على إعادة فتح المسار أمام حركة المواطنين والمركبات، بما يسهم في تسهيل التنقل بين المناطق المرتبطة بالخط.

ويُعد خط عرهر من الطرق الحيوية التي تربط مناطق شرق الأرخبيل بالعاصمة حديبوه، كما يمثل الطريق منفذاً مهماً للوصول إلى منطقة عرهر، إحدى أبرز المعالم والمواقع السياحية في أرخبيل سقطرى.

وتأتي هذه الجهود في إطار المساهمة في معالجة الأضرار التي تتعرض لها الطرق خلال الرياح الموسمية، والحد من آثار الزحف الرملي الذي يتسبب بصورة متكررة في إعاقة حركة السير وانقطاع عدد من الطرق في الأرخبيل.

وأشاد عدد من الأهالي بهذه الجهود، مؤكدين أن إعادة فتح الطريق ستسهم في تسهيل حركة المواطنين ونقل حاجاتهم، وتعزيز الوصول إلى المناطق الشرقية والمواقع السياحية في الجزيرة.

The leadership of the 808 Support and Assistance Force of the Arab Coalition in the Socotra Archipelago today (Thursday) reopened the Arhar road linking the Arsal area to the capital Hadibo, after being closed for more than four months due to the accumulation of sand and its encroachment on the road caused by the seasonal winds affecting the island.

The efforts included utilizing the equipment of the 808 Force to remove the dunes and accumulated sand deposits on the road, and working to reopen the route for the movement of citizens and vehicles, which contributes to facilitating transportation between the areas connected by the road.

The Arhar road is considered one of the vital routes that connect the eastern areas of the archipelago to the capital Hadibo, and it serves as an important access point to the Arhar area, one of the most prominent landmarks and tourist sites in the Socotra Archipelago.

These efforts come as part of the contribution to addressing the damage that roads suffer during the seasonal winds, and to mitigate the effects of sand encroachment that repeatedly obstructs traffic and causes the closure of several roads in the archipelago.

A number of residents praised these efforts, affirming that reopening the road will facilitate the movement of citizens and the transportation of their needs, and enhance access to the eastern areas and tourist sites on the island.
