أكد رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني الدكتور رشاد محمد العليمي، اليوم (الخميس)، أن القوات المسلحة اليمنية قادرة على استعادة زمام المبادرة وبسط سيطرة الدولة على كامل أراضي البلاد، محذراً من أن استمرار التعامل مع مليشيا الحوثي بمنطق الاحتواء لن يؤدي إلى إنهاء التهديد، بل يفتح الطريق أمام جولات جديدة من التصعيد وإعادة التسلح.

وقال العليمي، خلال لقائه سفيرة المملكة المتحدة لدى اليمن عبدة شريف اليوم: إن الشعب اليمني يثق بقواته المسلحة وقدرتها على استعادة المبادرة، مشدداً على أن الدعم الدولي للحكومة والقوات المسلحة والمقاومة الشعبية يمثل الطريق الأكثر استدامة لإنهاء التهديد الحوثي المدعوم من النظام الإيراني.

تماسك القوات الحكومية

وأشار إلى أن القوات المسلحة والتشكيلات العسكرية أظهرت كفاءة عالية في التعامل مع التصعيد الحوثي على جبهات متعددة، والانتقال من مرحلة احتواء الهجمات إلى استعادة المبادرة وتعزيز قوة الردع، لافتاً إلى أن التطورات الأخيرة في الساحل الغربي شكلت اختباراً صعباً، إلا أن القوات حافظت على تماسكها وحولت التطورات إلى فرصة لاستعادة المبادرة وتوحيد الصف.

وقال العليمي إن تعز كانت «مقبرة للمليشيا» كما كانت مأرب والضالع وغيرها من المحافظات، مجدداً التحذير من استمرار سياسة الاحتواء، ومؤكداً أن التهدئة التي لا تحول دون إعادة التسلح تتحول عملياً إلى جولات جديدة من العنف والتخريب.

وربط رئيس مجلس القيادة بين استعادة الدولة سيطرتها على أراضيها وسواحلها وبين أمن البحر الأحمر وباب المندب، مؤكداً أن دعم القوات المسلحة لاستعادة مؤسسات الدولة «ليس استثماراً في أمن اليمن وحده، وإنما في أمن التجارة والطاقة والمصالح العالمية». ودعا العليمي المجتمع الدولي إلى الانتقال من إدانة الدعم الإيراني لمليشيا الحوثي إلى إجراءات عملية تشمل تطبيق حظر السلاح، وملاحقة شبكات التهريب والتمويل، ومنع نقل التكنولوجيا العسكرية. كما أشاد بالدور المحوري للسعودية ودعمها المستمر للحكومة والشعب اليمني، إلى جانب تدخلاتها الاقتصادية والإنسانية والإنمائية ومساندتها برنامج الإصلاحات وتحسين الخدمات الأساسية.

أمن باب المندب يبدأ باستعادة الدولة

جاء ذلك في الوقت الذي أطلقت اليمن في اجتماع أممي رفيع المستوى بنيويورك حول تعزيز التعاون من أجل مجال بحري آمن ومستقر، حيث أكدت أن استقرار المجال البحري اليمني يمثل جزءاً أساسياً من سيادة البلاد وأمنها القومي واستقرارها الاقتصادي. كما شددت على أن البحر الأحمر وباب المندب وخليج عدن تمثل شرايين رئيسية للتجارة العالمية وسلاسل الإمداد.

وحذر نائب مندوب اليمن الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة السفير أحمد الشرعبي، من استمرار مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية، بدعم إيراني، في توسيع وجودها العسكري على امتداد الساحل الغربي وباتجاه باب المندب، مؤكداً أن اليمن يدفع كلفة بشرية باهظة لصد هذه التهديدات وحماية الممرات المائية الحيوية.

وأوضح الشرعبي أن التطورات الأخيرة أظهرت الترابط الاستراتيجي بين مضيقي هرمز وباب المندب، وأن تعطل الملاحة في أي من المعابر البحرية الرئيسية يترك تداعيات على أسواق الطاقة والاقتصاد العالمي، فيما يؤدي اضطراب الممرين في وقت واحد إلى مضاعفة الصدمات الاقتصادية وتقليص البدائل المتاحة لحركة التجارة بين آسيا وأوروبا عبر قناة السويس.

وشدد على أن محاولات جماعات مسلحة من غير الدول، مدعومة من أطراف خارجية، للسيطرة على الممرات البحرية الإستراتيجية تشكل تهديداً مباشراً لحرية الملاحة والاستقرار الإقليمي، مؤكداً أن تحقيق الأمن البحري يتطلب دولة يمنية قادرة وفاعلة، تسيطر على مياهها الإقليمية وموانئها وسواحلها.

ودعا المجتمع الدولي إلى تمكين الدولة اليمنية من تأمين مياهها الإقليمية وحماية موانئها وبنيتها التحتية البحرية وبسط سيطرتها على سواحلها، مؤكداً استعداد الحكومة اليمنية للعمل مع الشركاء الإقليميين والدوليين لضمان بقاء البحر الأحمر وباب المندب وخليج عدن آمنة ومفتوحة أمام الملاحة العالمية.

The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, confirmed today (Thursday) that the Yemeni armed forces are capable of regaining the initiative and establishing the state's control over all the country's territories, warning that continued engagement with the Houthi militia in a containment manner will not lead to ending the threat, but rather opens the door to new rounds of escalation and rearmament.

Al-Alimi stated during his meeting with the UK Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, today that the Yemeni people trust their armed forces and their ability to regain the initiative, emphasizing that international support for the government, the armed forces, and the popular resistance represents the most sustainable path to ending the Houthi threat backed by the Iranian regime.

The Cohesion of Government Forces

He pointed out that the armed forces and military formations have shown high efficiency in dealing with the Houthi escalation on multiple fronts, transitioning from a phase of containing attacks to regaining the initiative and enhancing deterrence, noting that recent developments on the western coast posed a difficult test, yet the forces maintained their cohesion and turned the developments into an opportunity to regain the initiative and unify ranks.

Al-Alimi stated that Taiz has been a "graveyard for the militia," just as Marib, Al-Dhale, and other governorates have been, reiterating the warning against the continuation of the containment policy, and confirming that a ceasefire that does not prevent rearmament practically turns into new rounds of violence and sabotage.

The President of the Council linked the restoration of the state's control over its lands and coasts with the security of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, affirming that supporting the armed forces to restore state institutions "is not just an investment in the security of Yemen alone, but in the security of trade, energy, and global interests." Al-Alimi called on the international community to move from condemning Iranian support for the Houthi militia to practical measures that include enforcing an arms embargo, pursuing smuggling and financing networks, and preventing the transfer of military technology. He also praised Saudi Arabia's pivotal role and its ongoing support for the Yemeni government and people, alongside its economic, humanitarian, and developmental interventions and its support for the reform program and the improvement of basic services.

Security of Bab al-Mandab Begins with Restoring the State

This came at a time when Yemen launched at a high-level UN meeting in New York to enhance cooperation for a safe and stable maritime domain, where it affirmed that the stability of the Yemeni maritime domain is an essential part of the country's sovereignty, national security, and economic stability. It also emphasized that the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden represent major arteries for global trade and supply chains.

The Deputy Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmed Al-Sharabi, warned of the continued expansion of the terrorist Houthi militia, with Iranian support, in its military presence along the western coast and towards Bab al-Mandab, confirming that Yemen is paying a heavy human cost to repel these threats and protect vital waterways.

Al-Sharabi explained that recent developments have shown the strategic interconnection between the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, and that disruptions to navigation in any of the main maritime passages have repercussions on energy markets and the global economy, while disturbances in both passages simultaneously would multiply economic shocks and reduce the available alternatives for trade movement between Asia and Europe via the Suez Canal.

He emphasized that attempts by non-state armed groups, supported by external parties, to control strategic maritime passages pose a direct threat to freedom of navigation and regional stability, affirming that achieving maritime security requires a capable and effective Yemeni state that controls its territorial waters, ports, and coasts.

He called on the international community to empower the Yemeni state to secure its territorial waters, protect its ports and maritime infrastructure, and extend its control over its coasts, confirming the Yemeni government's readiness to work with regional and international partners to ensure that the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden remain safe and open to global navigation.
