لقي ستة أشخاص حتفهم، من بينهم خمسة أفراد من عائلة واحدة، إثر حادث سير مروّع وقع أمس (الثلاثاء) في محافظة ذي قار جنوب شرق العراق، لينضم هذا الحادث إلى سلسلة فواجع مرورية دموية ضربت البلاد خلال الساعات الـ48 الماضية وأسفرت عن سقوط عشرات الضحايا.
تفاصيل فاجعة «قلعة سكر»
وأفاد مصدر أمني لوكالات أنباء محلية بأن الحادث الأخير وقع قرب منطقة «النهر المالح» التابعة لقضاء قلعة سكر شمالي المحافظة؛ حيث انحرفت المركبة التي كانت تقل الضحايا عن مسارها وانقلبت بشكل عنيف، ما أسفر عن وفاة الركاب الستة على الفور.
نزيف الأسفلت المستمر
ويأتي هذا الحادث بعد يومين فقط من كارثة مرورية مروّعة شهدها الطريق الدولي الرابط بين محافظتي البصرة وذي قار ظهر (الأحد)، جراء تصادم عنيف بين صهريج وحافلة ركاب، أسفر عن مصرع 21 شخصاً وإصابة 19 آخرين بحروق بليغة.
سبب الكارثة
وعزا مدير مرور ذي قار، العميد زياد الحصونة، تفاصيل تلك الكارثة إلى «غلَبَة النعاس» على سائق حافلة الركاب، ما أدى إلى اصطدامه بالشاحنة الكبيرة ثم بحاجز خرساني، وهو ما فجّر حريقاً هائلاً التهم الحافلة بالكامل.
وفي سياق متصل، دعت دائرة صحة البصرة ذوي ضحايا حادث (الأحد) للحضور إلى مقر الطب العدلي لرفع عينات الحمض النووي (DNA)، بغية مطابقتها والتعرف على هويات الضحايا بعدما تفحمت جثثهم بالكامل جراء النيران.
مصرع إعلامي على طريق بغداد
ولم تتوقف حوادث الطرق عند هذا الحد؛ إذ شهد الطريق الرابط بين العاصمة بغداد ومحافظة البصرة (الإثنين) حادثاً مأساوياً آخر، أسفر عن مصرع الإعلامي الكردي «هلكوت عزيز»، مراسل ومدير مكتب شبكة «رووداو» الإعلامية في بغداد، لينضم إلى قائمة ضحايا الطرق التي باتت تصفها الأوساط المحلية بـ«طرق الموت».
Six people died, including five members of one family, in a horrific traffic accident that occurred yesterday (Tuesday) in Dhi Qar Governorate in southeastern Iraq. This incident adds to a series of bloody traffic tragedies that have struck the country over the past 48 hours, resulting in dozens of casualties.
Details of the "Qalat Sukar" tragedy
A security source informed local news agencies that the recent accident took place near the "Salty River" area in the Qalat Sukar district in the northern part of the governorate; where the vehicle carrying the victims veered off its path and overturned violently, leading to the immediate death of all six passengers.
The ongoing asphalt bleeding
This accident comes just two days after a horrific traffic disaster that occurred on the international road linking the provinces of Basra and Dhi Qar on Sunday afternoon, due to a violent collision between a tanker and a passenger bus, which resulted in the deaths of 21 people and injuries to 19 others with severe burns.
The cause of the disaster
The director of Dhi Qar Traffic, Brigadier General Ziad Al-Hosouna, attributed the details of that disaster to the "overwhelming drowsiness" of the passenger bus driver, which led to his collision with the large truck and then with a concrete barrier, igniting a massive fire that engulfed the entire bus.
In a related context, the Basra Health Directorate called on the families of the victims of the (Sunday) accident to come to the forensic medicine office to collect DNA samples, in order to match and identify the victims after their bodies were completely charred due to the flames.
Death of a journalist on the Baghdad road
Traffic accidents did not stop there; as the road linking the capital Baghdad and Basra province witnessed another tragic incident on (Monday), resulting in the death of Kurdish journalist "Halkot Aziz," a correspondent and head of the Rudaw media network office in Baghdad, joining the list of road victims that local circles have begun to describe as "death roads."
