يعود النجم الأمريكي براد بيت إلى عالم «World War Z»، بعد 13 عاماً من عرض الجزء الأول، مع تحرك جديد لإنجاز الجزء الثاني من الفيلم، عقب سنوات من المحاولات التي توقفت قبل الوصول إلى مرحلة التصوير.

وبحسب «Deadline»، أُنجز الاتفاق مع بيت للعودة إلى شخصية «جيري لين»، إلى جانب مشاركته في إنتاج الفيلم، فيما يتولى إدوارد بيرغر مهمة الإخراج، ويكتب دينيس كيلي السيناريو.

وتعيد الخطوة المشروع إلى الواجهة بعد رحلة طويلة من التطوير، شهدت ارتباط أسماء سينمائية عدة بالجزء الثاني، من بينها المخرج ديفيد فينشر، قبل أن تتوقف تلك النسخة.

ويحمل المشروع الجديد رهاناً تجارياً واضحاً، بعدما حقق الفيلم الأول، الذي عُرض عام 2013، أكثر من 540 مليون دولار في شباك التذاكر العالمي، ليصبح أحد أبرز أفلام براد بيت جماهيرياً.

ولم يُكشف حتى الآن عن موعد بدء التصوير أو تاريخ العرض، كما تبقى تفاصيل القصة الجديدة قيد الكتمان، ما يضع المشروع حالياً في مرحلة التطوير والاستعداد قبل انتقاله إلى التنفيذ.

The American star Brad Pitt returns to the world of "World War Z" after 13 years since the release of the first part, with a new move to complete the second part of the film, following years of attempts that halted before reaching the filming stage.

According to "Deadline," an agreement has been reached with Pitt to return to the character of "Jerry Lane," alongside his participation in producing the film, while Edward Berger will take on the directing role, and Dennis Kelly will write the screenplay.

This step brings the project back to the forefront after a long development journey, which saw several cinematic names associated with the second part, including director David Fincher, before that version was halted.

The new project carries a clear commercial bet, after the first film, released in 2013, grossed over $540 million at the global box office, making it one of Brad Pitt's most popular films.

As of now, the start date for filming or the release date has not been revealed, and details of the new story remain under wraps, placing the project currently in the development and preparation stage before moving to execution.
