دعت الحكومة اليمنية، اليوم (الأربعاء)، الأمم المتحدة ومجلس الأمن الدولي، إلى اتخاذ خطوات عاجلة وفعّالة لفك الحصار الخانق الذي تفرضه مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية على مدينة تعز، موضحة أنه ينذر بكارثة إنسانية واسعة النطاق.

ووجهت وزيرة الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين اليمنية، الدكتورة أفراح الزوبة، إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، ورئيس مجلس الأمن الدولي، والمفوض السامي لحقوق الإنسان، ورئيسة اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، ووكيل الأمين العام للشؤون الإنسانية، رسالة بشأن التدهور الخطير للأوضاع الإنسانية في محافظة تعز جراء تصعيد مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية، محذرة من أن التصعيد الحوثي الأخير وتضييق الحصار على تعز وقراها ينذر بكارثة إنسانية تطال أكثر من 4 ملايين نسمة، بين محاصرين داخل المدينة ونازحين من المديريات المتضررة كـ (الشمايتين والمواسط وجبل حبشي).

وطالبت الرسالة، بضغط دولي مباشر، للرفع الفوري للحصار، وفتح كافة منافذ تعز أمام المدنيين وسلاسل الإمداد، وتأمين الوصول المستدام للغذاء والوقود ومياه الشرب، دون عوائق، إضافة إلى تعزيز آليات الرصد والتوثيق والمساءلة لحفظ أدلة الانتهاكات ومحاسبة مرتكبيها وضمان عدم إفلاتهم من العقاب.

ودعت الوزيرة في رسالتها، المجتمع الدولي إلى اتخاذ موقف واضح إزاء أي ممارسات تستهدف حرمان السكان المدنيين من مقومات الحياة أو توظيف حاجاتهم الإنسانية وسيلةً للضغط أو فرض الأمر الواقع.

وجددت الحكومة اليمنية التأكيد على التزامها بالتعاون مع الأمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة والمنظمات الإنسانية والحقوقية والشركاء الإقليميين والدوليين، وتقديم ما يتوافر لديها من بيانات ومعلومات ذات صلة، والعمل على تسهيل جهود الاستجابة الإنسانية، بما يسهم في تخفيف معاناة السكان وحماية المدنيين وضمان وصول المساعدات إلى مستحقيها.

وقالت وزيرة الخارجية: «إن خطورة الأوضاع القائمة في تعز، وما تنطوي عليه من تهديد مباشر لحياة المدنيين وكرامتهم وحقوقهم الأساسية، تستوجب تحركاً دولياً عاجلاً يتجاوز حدود التعبير عن القلق إلى اتخاذ تدابير عملية وملموسة تكفل إنهاء الحصار، واستعادة تدفق الإمدادات الضرورية، وحماية المرافق المدنية، ومنع تفاقم الكارثة الإنسانية».

من جهة أخرى، قالت وزيرة الخارجية اليمنية إنها ناقشت مع الصين استخدام الحوثيين لتكنولوجيا صينية لصنع أسلحة، مبينة أن بكين أبدت حرصاً على التحقيق في استخدام الحوثيين للتكنولوجيا في صناعة الأسلحة.

The Yemeni government called today (Wednesday) on the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council to take urgent and effective steps to lift the suffocating siege imposed by the Houthi terrorist militia on the city of Taiz, warning that it threatens a widespread humanitarian disaster.

The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, addressed the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, in a letter regarding the serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Taiz Governorate due to the escalation by the Houthi terrorist militia. She warned that the recent Houthi escalation and tightening of the siege on Taiz and its villages threatens a humanitarian disaster affecting more than 4 million people, including those besieged within the city and displaced from affected districts such as (Al-Shamayatayn, Al-Mawasit, and Jabal Habashi).

The letter called for direct international pressure for the immediate lifting of the siege, opening all entrances to Taiz for civilians and supply chains, and ensuring sustainable access to food, fuel, and drinking water without obstacles, in addition to enhancing monitoring, documentation, and accountability mechanisms to preserve evidence of violations and hold perpetrators accountable to ensure they do not escape punishment.

The minister, in her letter, urged the international community to take a clear stance regarding any practices aimed at depriving civilians of the essentials of life or using their humanitarian needs as a means of pressure or imposing a fait accompli.

The Yemeni government reiterated its commitment to cooperate with the United Nations and its specialized agencies, humanitarian and rights organizations, and regional and international partners, providing any available relevant data and information, and working to facilitate humanitarian response efforts, which contribute to alleviating the suffering of the population, protecting civilians, and ensuring that aid reaches those in need.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: "The seriousness of the current situation in Taiz, and the direct threat it poses to the lives, dignity, and basic rights of civilians, necessitates urgent international action that goes beyond expressing concern to taking practical and tangible measures to ensure the end of the siege, restore the flow of essential supplies, protect civilian facilities, and prevent the exacerbation of the humanitarian disaster."

On another note, the Yemeni Foreign Minister stated that she discussed with China the Houthis' use of Chinese technology to manufacture weapons, indicating that Beijing expressed its eagerness to investigate the use of technology by the Houthis in weapon production.
