وثّقت صورة فلكية نادرة مشهداً استثنائياً جمع الشمس ومحطة الفضاء الدولية وطائرة في لقطة واحدة، في تزامن قدّر المصور احتمالية حدوثه بنحو واحد من 30 مليوناً.
واختارت وكالة الفضاء الأمريكية «ناسا»، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، الصورة ضمن «الصورة الفلكية لليوم»، بعدما التقطها المصور الفلكي بيتر هوراليك في بلدة براسيك بجمهورية التشيك.
ثوانٍ حاسمة
وكان هوراليك يخطط لتصوير مرور محطة الفضاء الدولية أمام قرص الشمس في 8 يونيو الماضي، وهي لحظة خاطفة استغرق فيها عبور المحطة نحو 0.67 ثانية فقط.
وخلال التقاط الصورة حدث ما لم يكن ضمن حساباته، إذ عبرت طائرة أمام الشمس في اللحظة نفسها، لتظهر صورتها إلى جانب محطة الفضاء والبقع الشمسية على القرص المضيء.
واحد من 30 مليون
وبعد حساب حجم الشمس الظاهري ومدة عبور المحطة والمنطقة التي مرت عبرها الطائرة، قدّر المصور فرصة حدوث هذا التزامن العشوائي والتقاطه في صورة واحدة بنحو واحد من 30 مليون.
وكشف لاحقاً أن الطائرة الظاهرة في اللقطة هي طائرة تدريب من طراز L-39 Skyfox، وكانت تحلق في وضع مقلوب لحظة مرورها أمام الشمس.
«ناسا» تبرز اللقطة
وأعادت «ناسا» تسليط الضوء على الصورة في 22 سبتمبر، موضحة أن مرور محطة الفضاء كان مخططاً لتصويره بدقة، بينما كان ظهور الطائرة هو العنصر المفاجئ الذي حوّل المشهد إلى اصطفاف ثلاثي نادر.
A rare astronomical image captured an exceptional scene that brought together the sun, the International Space Station, and an airplane in a single shot, with the photographer estimating the likelihood of this occurrence to be about one in 30 million.
The American space agency "NASA" selected the image today (Tuesday) as the "Astronomical Picture of the Day," after it was taken by astrophotographer Peter Horálek in the town of Brasyk in the Czech Republic.
Crucial Seconds
Horálek was planning to photograph the passage of the International Space Station in front of the sun's disk on June 8, a fleeting moment that lasted only about 0.67 seconds.
During the capture of the image, something unexpected happened, as an airplane crossed in front of the sun at the same moment, appearing alongside the space station and the sunspots on the illuminated disk.
One in 30 Million
After calculating the apparent size of the sun, the duration of the station's transit, and the area through which the airplane passed, the photographer estimated the chance of this random synchronization and capturing it in a single image to be about one in 30 million.
It was later revealed that the airplane appearing in the shot is a training aircraft of the type L-39 Skyfox, which was flying upside down at the moment it passed in front of the sun.
NASA Highlights the Shot
NASA brought attention back to the image on September 22, explaining that the passage of the space station was planned to be photographed accurately, while the appearance of the airplane was the surprising element that turned the scene into a rare triple alignment.
